AUTHOR'S NOTE : 350+ reads!? THANK YOU ALL🩷 happy reading 🩷 ‼️ Arjun and Draupadi are the plot of this chapter ‼️
Duryodhan's revenge was on the verge of completion. He had snatched away Yudhishthir's kingdom and enslaved three of Yudhishthir's brothers. But Duryodhan had an insatiable appetite for revenge. He wanted to enslave Arjun, Draupadi and Yudhishthir himself too. To get to Draupadi and to enslave Yudhishthir, it was important to eliminate Arjun first. Shakuni's plan in separating Arjun from the rest had worked. Even if Arjun was to eventually reach Hastinapur, Duryodhan's revenge would still be complete.
Yudhishthir, who had lost everything said to Duryodhan, "Anuj, you have won everything that belonged to me. Even my brothers. I have nothing else to give to you. I would now like to accept defeat and leave". "Wrong, Jyesht. You have four younger brothers, not three", said Duryodhan as his pupils dilated with lust for vengeance. A confused Yudhishthir said, "But Arjun is not present here at the moment. I cannot bet on him". Shakuni chimed in and said, "But Samrat, physical distance does not terminate a relation, does it? Will it not be unrighteous if you lie about you not having anything under the sun that belongs to you anymore?". Yudhishthir was rendered speechless yet again by Shakuni's attack on his duty and Dharma. "Unfortunately, you are right, Mamashree. But it is also according to the rules that both the players have to bet on belongings of the same value. And none of Duryodhan's brothers is nearly as accomplished as Arjun is as a warrior. Therefore, Arjun is not applicable to be bet on", said Yudhishthir with confidence. Bheem, Nakul and Sahadev took a sigh of relief knowing that as long as Arjun and Yudhishthir are independent, they would be freed from Duryodhan's captivity.
Duryodhan thought for a moment and said, "A person also has rights over his friends. Am I right, Mitr Karn?". Anga Raj Karn was a little surprised. He did not wish to be a part of their familial dispute. All he wished was to duel with Arjun one day, fair and square. But Anga Raj Karn was indebted to Duryodhan. He had practically sold his soul to Duryodhan because to him, the respect he rightfully got as a warrior was all due to Duryodhan declaring him as the King of Anga. Thus, Karn reluctantly smiled and said, "Yes, Mitr. You do. You can bet on me". Duryodhan looked at Yudhishthir and smirked as he said, "Here you go, Bhratashree. I bet on my friend, Anga Raj Karn, who is as accomplished as Arjun in archery and is a warrior of equal excellence". Yudhishthir, once again was rendered helpless. He knew Duryodhan would somehow convince Karn into partaking in this inappropriate Dyut but somehow, somewhere, Yudhishthir had a little faith in Anga Raj which was now shattered. Yudhishthir cursed himself internally as he said, "I bet on my brother Arjun".
"Long Live, Samragyi Draupadi. Maharani, Samrat has placed a bet on Prince Arjun", said the nervous Daasi as she entered Draupadi's chamber. Draupadi's fury had reached its zenith. "How dare he bet on Arya Arjun in his absence? Who did he ask?", she asked clenching her fists. "Gandhar Raj questioned Samrat Yudhishthir's Dharma, Maharani. He was helpless", replied the Daasi. Draupadi was infuriated. "He is the Supreme Emperor of Indraprasth, not a helpless Tapasvi. But if he is so blinded by his personal duty, then I will put an end to this highly inappropriate Dyut Sabha", Draupadi said and stormed out of her chamber. As she was headed towards the court, she was blinded by fury. "Samragyi, it is against the rules for ladies of the royal family to enter during the game. Samragyi, please stop", her servants called from behind as she marched ahead. But even Krishn Himself could not stop Draupadi at that moment. Draupadi ignored her servants' plea and entered the court. She was stopped by soldiers extending their spears together to form an obstacle. Draupadi clenched her jaw and said, "Moorkh, you think you can stop the Supreme Empress of Indraprasth?". The soldiers retracted their spears and cleared her path. Draupadi angrily marched towards Yudhishthir. Before she confronted Yudhishthir, her eyes fell on Bheem, Nakul and Sahadev who were made to sit with servants on the ground. This infuriated Draupadi further. She could not let Yudhishthir do the same thing to Arjun. "Who gave you the right to do this, Samrat? You already lost your brothers who consented to being bet on. How dare you decide to bet on Arya Arjun without his consent?", she questioned Yudhishthir. Yudhishthir did not have an answer for her. Duryodhan couldn't stand her presence and looked towards Dhritarashtra and said, "Maharaj, she is breaking the rules of the court. Ladies of the royal family aren't allowed here while the game is still going on". "Draupadi, dear, please exit the court. I do not want to order you, my child", said Dhritarashtra gently. Draupadi respectfully said, "You cannot order me, Tashri. I only take orders from my husbands and nobody else". Shakuni chimed in once again and targeted Yudhishthir and said, "Samrat, your wife is disrespecting the rules of the court. Is it not a clear violation of Dharma?". Yudhishthir sighed and said, "Panchali, please leave. This is my order". Draupadi clenched her jaw in fury and said before leaving, "You have lost your kingdom, you have lost your three brothers who are now Duryodhan's slaves and now you are about to bet on Prince Arjun without his consent. What is next? You betting on yourself?". Draupadi stormed out.
