(PART 1/2)
The helicopters dispatched the teams in a swamp. Madison dealt well with the ambience, and led the team to a crashed plane on the corner of the site. They all got inside it, leaning on the walls as some of them, along with Tim, managed to close the heavy plane's hatch, Madison, on the other hand, was in a corner, opening some boxes, with some clear struggle, since they were nailed close. She heard footsteps approaching her, and she groaned, immediately deducing that it was her -shadow-. -Oh timothy, for god's sake I don't need help- she said, turning to face Tim, but instead, spotting a girl -Oh, sorry- she muttered as the girl waved her hand in the air -Whatever, need some help?- she asks and Maddie groans slightly at another failed attempt on opening the boxes. -I could use some... yeah- she finally answers and the girl walks over to her to help. Some minutes passed and nothing happened besides their hands filling up with blisters and some scratches. The girl grumbled in frustration before looking around. -Maybe this can help?- she asks, pointing towards a hammer-like utensil -No, no, no, no, no! What's inside here is fragile- she said and felt someone towering over her -Need help over there, captain?- Tim muttered, with a smirk on his face. -No, we're good- she grunts back while the boy chuckled -When are you going to admit you need me?- he says, walking away, grabbing a piece of metal and slipped it under the wooden lid, pushing it up, opening the box with a bit of struggle. -So?- he says with a grin -I just didn't see it there, no big deal, Timothy- she rolls her eyes -Uhm... guys? Come over here- she says as the whole squad gathers -Put these on- she said, giving each one a bulletproof vest. Each of the vests had a codename and the inscription -Task force 07- underneath it. As they all put it on she gave them night vision goggles right after, and wore one as well, resting it on her forehead as she adjusted the band around her head. Some while later, she found a specific vest with the nickname -Viper- she slid it on, turning around just to be jumpscared by Tim, once again -OH MY–- she cleared her throat as he laughed -You seem to be quite fond of that one vest- he said -It was mine, from the task force some years ago- she explains, leaning once again towards the box, looking at the two remaining vests inside the box, her eyes dark, nearly no expression showing -Oh, so you like to keep things traditional?- he leaned closer to her, his eyes immediately noticing her expression -Now what? War flashbacks?- he says with a chuckle, he'd never admit it, but a part of him tried to do it to make her feel less... whatever she was feeling -Shut up- she muttered, sitting in a corner of the plane. The girl that had helped her previously appeared -So... you're our captain- she says, deep down, she wanted to admit it to her, to make her understand that -our lives are in your hand, huh?- she says -I fear so..- Madison groans -Wait, you aren't glad?- -No, not at all, why should I?- she says as the girl chuckles -yeah right, like you wouldn't love to boss us around- she says, being answered by a frown in Madison's face -Oh, uhm... sorry- she says, then raises her hand -I'm Rachel Warner-.Madison shakes it -Madison Ross- she mutters looking away, to the floor -It'd be nice if they gave us some weapons instead of just... whatever we got- Rachel comments. Maddie's eyes seemed to sparkle -We do!- she says, getting up in a heartbeat, opening some sort of big locker that had multiple cases inside. She opened them and laughed in content -here are my pretty boys- she smiled, as the squad gathered around her -Alright folks, each of you grab one of those cases, there's a gun, loads of ammo and a radio. Clip the radio on the vest and put the ear plug. We'll be using channel 7, got it?- she says and they all nod, some more excited than others, simply by the fact they had semi automatic rifles in their hands. -Well, I guess that for today we're done, it's getting late and we need to be ready for whatever comes tomorrow- she says -You guys can pick a corner and get some rest- she says, as they all separated into different parts of the plane. She sat close to some boxes, leaning her head against the wall. The night came, but as much as it seemed it'd be a peaceful one, it wasn't. Timothy woke up to the sound of footsteps. It was really dark, and due to the sleepiness, he didn't put on the Night vision goggles. He looked around, everyone seemed to be sleeping, besides Maddie, but she was laying down, looking around until her eyes met his. He walked to her and kneeled in front of her.
