The day had been anything but easy for Kim Rona. After the unexpected encounter with Sehun and the rest of EXO in the practice room, she had made it her mission to avoid both Sehun and Suho at all costs. She knew that if anyone caught wind of their connection—especially the fact that Sehun had proposed to her—rumors would spread like wildfire. And that was the last thing she wanted on her first day at SM Entertainment.
As she moved through the halls of the building, Rona kept her eyes peeled, always on the lookout for any sign of EXO. Whenever she spotted Suho or Sehun in the distance, she would quickly turn around and find another route, hoping to escape unnoticed. It was exhausting, to say the least, but she was determined to keep a low profile until things settled down.
Despite her best efforts, Rona did come face to face with them a few times throughout the day. But each time, she would abruptly change direction, avoiding any eye contact. Suho had tried to call out to her once, but she pretended not to hear and hurried away. Sehun, on the other hand, had simply watched her with a mixture of confusion and amusement, clearly aware of her attempts to avoid him.
By late afternoon, her behavior had started to draw the attention of the other EXO members. They had noticed the odd tension between Rona and their leader, as well as her strange habit of disappearing whenever they were nearby. It didn’t take long for them to start whispering among themselves, their curiosity piqued.
The whispers soon turned into speculation, with each member trying to piece together what could possibly be going on. Suho, ever the responsible leader, had kept quiet about the whole situation, hoping it would blow over. But the more he tried to downplay it, the more the members became convinced that something was up.
By the time dinner rolled around, the tension in the air was palpable. The group sat around a large table in one of their favorite restaurants, the usual chatter and laughter replaced by a strange, lingering silence. Suho could feel the eyes of his bandmates on him, their curiosity nearly driving him to his wit's end.
Finally, after gathering enough courage, Xiumin broke the silence. "Suho," he began cautiously, glancing at Suho, "about yesterday... Who was that girl?"
Suho's grip tightened around his chopsticks, his heart sinking. He knew this moment was coming, but he had hoped to avoid it a little longer. "What do you mean?" he asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Xiumin exchanged a look with Baekhyun before continuing. "The girl in the practice room. You and Sehun seemed to know her. And now you’re avoiding talking about it. We’re just curious."
Baekhyun, never one to miss an opportunity, jumped in. "Yeah, Suho-hyung! You two were whispering like you were hiding some big secret. Spill it!"
The other members nodded in agreement, their eyes now fixed on Suho. Sehun, who had been quietly eating his dinner, also looked up, his curiosity getting the better of him.
Suho sighed deeply, realizing there was no way out of this. His members were too persistent, and they wouldn’t let this go until they had answers. "It’s not what you think," he began, choosing his words carefully.
Chen leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "So what is it then? You’ve been acting strange since yesterday."
Suho hesitated, trying to find the right way to explain without revealing too much. But the more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became. "Look, it’s complicated. Rona—she’s my dad’s brother’s daughter."
The table fell silent for a moment as the members processed this information. Baekhyun was the first to react, letting out a high-pitched squeal. "Wait, wait, wait—so she’s your cousin?"
