Vaidehi: 8 years old
Raghuveer: 10 years old

Author’s POV

“Mumma I don’t want to go to school today! Let me sleep naaa”, whined a sleepy Raghuveer.

But Sonal had enough of the drama.
“Raghu! Wake up or I’ll tell your papa and then he will tickle you and throw you in the cold water tub!”
“Humph you’re so bad mumma!” said Raghuveer with a pout

“Acha bacchu! Wait I’ll show you!” said Sonal with a teasing smile and picked up the little devil like a potato sack. Our baby devil had to take a cold bath which made him grumpy.

Sonal is rubbing his body with a towel while Raghuveer glares at his mother with a pout! Looking like an old grumpy grandpa.

She pecked his cheek with a dazzling smile which made Raghuveer smile at his mother’s antics. Raghuveer cupped his mother’s cheeks and pressed a soft kiss on her forehead just like his father taught him.

Well of course no one can kiss Sonal Mahajan except her possessive husband who’s jealous of his own kids.

While Raghuveer is getting pampered by his mother, Ashvik has to deal with his father who’s being all sweet today which is very suspicious! Ved Mahajan is the senior devil, he’ll always do weird stuff but he being all sweet that too to his sons is very rare.

It’s not that he doesn’t love his kids but his love language is annoying the people he loves. He irritates the hell out of his wife too but she’s too much in love to slap some senses into her weird husband’s head!

Getting ready and with a heavy breakfast both the kids leave for their school. Today is their last day of school before the summer vacation.

Raghuveer’s POV

The sun shines brightly, as we make our way towards the assembly hall. A tiny figure with two braids appears in the crowd of hundreds of students. Standing beside another girl, she listens to her friends grievances. Suddenly she jumps angrily, her beautiful black eyes shine brightly as she drags her friend. The duo search for someone and reach one of the teacher’s.

She angrily blabbers stuff which is inaudible to me because of the huge crowd. The teacher nods and says something which calms the little lioness.

The teacher reveals two chocolates from her pocket and forwards it to the two who thank her for the sweets and then go away to join their classmates in the assembly.

I stare at my little heart like a creep until I’m distracted by Chirag, my best friend. After the assembly, we all return to our respective class. The day passes with boring classes except math. My teacher praised me for solving the sum correctly. I was rewarded with two chocolates, which Chirag tried to take from me but I’m definitely not giving it to him. One is for mumma and other for my little heart.

During the break time, we were playing lock and key when Ashvik’s friend came running.

“Bhaiya! Vaidehi ko lag gayi aur Ashvik bhi roo raha hai” said that boy.

(Brother! Vaidehi got hurt and Ashvik is also crying)

I asked him to take me where the two troublemakers are! I could see a few students surrounding them. A teacher was applying icepack on Vaidehi’s swollen forehead while Ashvik was trying to distract her from crying while he himself was crying like a kid.

“Well you guys are kids only”, mocked my subconscious.

I ignored my thoughts and first grabbed Ashvik and wiped his tears. I talked softly asking him if he’s hurt too. And fortunately, he’s fine.  Seeing Vaid ji crying he also lost it, his words not mine!
