"Release the antidote!"

That was the last thing he heard before his vision was flooded with a golden liquid. One of the guns on the ship malfunctioned, flooding the streets with the antitode rather than raining it. But only briefly. The young spider hybrid submerged in the substance, getting carried down the streets with it. The sequence of events happened fast and didn't do much damage. But for Syntax, it seemed to last for hours and damaged him irreparably.

He tried to scream, to escape, but his lungs flooded with the antidote. There was no sound, only pain and what could be described as choking. Where was his clan? Did they even notice or care he vanished? His thoughts didn't last long, nor did his visio as he suffered head trauma shortly after, knocking him out.

Syntax opened his eyes, squinting them as he adjusted to the sudden bright light. The ringing in his ears drowned out the distant voices.

Where on earth was he? Eventually, he was able to make out what they were saying.

"Pigsy! Mr. Tang! He's awake!"

That voice.... it couldn't... how long was he out?

His vision was blurry, but it soon adjusted, but it was hard to see anything out of focus or far away from him.

He looked around frantically. He was... in a shop. The scent of an, admittedly, very sudden and potent smell of food. He only stopped when he focused on the young man stood in front of him, seemingly happy he was okay.

The Monkie Kid.

Syntax froze in place. Why was he happy? Shouldn't he be scared of him? He was a spider demon for gods sakes!

He snapped out of it at the new voice and people entering his vision.

"You alright kid? You was coughing up the antidote when we found ya."

He looked over at the pig, his head hurting and vision still adjusting. He felt something warm placed in his hands. A... bowl of noodles. With chopsticks. Syntax was silent. The young scholar, also known as Tang, and a girl with quite a bit of green on, being Mei, also in his vision, albeit blurry.

When was the last time his vision was this bad? Well, once he became a spider demon that was. He didn't need his glasses afterwards.

...fuck, his glasses. Did he even have them? He patted his coat pockets for his glasses, panicking when he didn't feel them. He had them still, luckily, and he put them on, the young spider blinking a few times to adjust. The lenses were a bit cracked, but be could see now.

Syntax looked back down at the noodles, staring into the broth. Why weren't they afraid of him? Why were they being nice and not attacking-

Only then did he notice his hands. The light purple/soft voilet color he had adjusted to was gone. It was a normal, rather pale, skin tone. From when he was...

"Human...." Syntax muttered softly. He was human again. Everything reversed back. Well, except his coat. He could still feel the spider legs too. "What?" MK question, confused.

"..." He looked back at the noodles, carefully holding the chopsticks, spinning them in his hand. He was human again. That-... explained a lot, actually. They didn't recognize him... at least for now. They probably will when they properly hear his voice. He cautiously picked up the noodles with the chopsticks. He lifted them up to his mouth and...
