Ramsey: threading on ice

The buzzer went of as maddie fired the puck past allison, our defence was a bit leaky because we had to replace sarah with a fresher last minute, we were down two-nill in the first period.

In a home game non the less.

I could see the heads of my team drop and the fury of my coach. Maddie skated back to thier side of the ring making sure i could see the mocking gesture of her teeth.

They were nice set of teeth... but she was about to lose them.

The puck was at the centre of the ring and over it was emily my favourite attacking midfielder.

I stood behind her with ally ready for the opening play. Emily snatched the puck from maddie giving it straight to ally who wasted no time charging an attack.

Maddie must have told her girls to mark me at all times but by doing this i divided their attention to the apparent threat (me) and the aggressive emily charging straight for goal.

On the attack was emily, ally and haily our freshman defender replacing sarah. Even i thought i was mad, sending a freshman on an attack but she had an eye for goal. Their defense was made up of a bottom six but also consituted a top six attack force which meant the lone middleman (maddie) was commanding attack and defense.

Her side was weak and haily knew that.

With the puck at her feet she flew past maddie, maddison and silva their only two actual defense men stood infront of her path. Silva was quick on her feet but was lacking in height so maddison was stationed behind her to help compliment things.

Also that no one would flip the puck over her head. It seems maddie had things all figured out, but it fails and why it fails is because haily doesn't care what she's up against.

Putting her head down she fired the puck blasting it past their goalie. The shot was so strong moved the square net metres of its line.

The look on maddie's face was priceless not because they concided but because they did so when i wasn't even on the attack.

Oh God she was pissed.

The referee blew his whistle for a break before the second period.

My team went into the bleachers, their heads still down, we were down a goal but their was plenty of time left for a comeback, the cheerleaders were done with their routine and our maschaut was throwing backflips on ice.

I looked around my bench sensing the atmosphere i knew just who we needed.

I switched emily and ally's wings for a more confusing and aggressive attack but pushed haily a bit forward infront of delilah, leaving allison at goal and me on attack. We did a quick 'on me' then headed into the ice like champions.

The referee at the centre of the ice with the puck in his hand, emily was at the center with martelli (tells) their captain and she was a good scorer like me. The puck fell and tells stole the puck attacking by herself not giving her own team time to organize, or mine to.

Dancing past emily and ally i took after her knowing full well shes dangerous, i was just a fraction behind her so i needed her to make a mistake or slow down.

But she wasn't going to, she flipped the puck over delilah's head and it was the first time anyone had ever done that to her, well at least besides me. Tells slowed down as if about to shoot baiting haily to come closer before beating her at speed. I proceeded ahead of her and now realizing she had two other skaters in our half my team quickly rushed to mark the open players.

But i knew her, i knew she was greedy and wasn't going to pass i stood by the side of her right blocking her from using her stronger hand, forcing her to fire with the weaker one.
