The gym was always Ellis' happy place.
Whenever she wasn't hungover, she'd be at the gym at 5.30am sharp with her best friend, Sanders.
"At least she's hot though, doesn't that count for something?" Sanders said out of breath as he ran on the treadmill.
"Shut up. She's not hot. And any chance of her being hot is completely destroyed when she starts talking. I'm telling you, biggest attitude problem I've ever fucking seen. And she has a boyfriend, just to put in perspective how fucked the situation is for me." Ellis is also out of breath on the weight bench, shouting across the room to Sanders.
"So you're telling me, you've lived together for what, a week now? You two don't get along at all, not even anything in common?" Sanders questioned.
Ellis' mind was taken back to the day before when they arrived home from their lunch date.
-
"I'd say that was some pretty good shots they got back there. You okay?" Ellis asked.
"No. I'm hungry. I'm going to Brandon's."
Ellis rolled her eyes at the rude tone of voice.
"Yeah you're better off going there, cause some real strange shit is going on around here. I always had food in this place and suddenly in the past week it's all fucking disappeared! And whoever or WHATEVER is taking it doesn't seem to care to REPLACE IT! So yeah, get on out of here, it's not safe around here." Ellis yelled from the couch.
Violet froze in the hallway.
"You PIG! How dare you speak to me like that! You drink more than you eat, that's why there was always food! Ugh, you're so annoying!"
"Oh, drink! Yeah a drink! You should try it sometime, loosen up a little, you were born with a stick up your ass. Get out of my apartment, go on to your man child's house. Go!"
"With pleasure!" Violet got the last word in as she slammed the apartment door shut.
-
And that's how pretty much all of the two's rare conversations go.
"Yeah, no, she hates me, I hate her, this is the situation I've been given. It is what it is."
Ellis said goodbye to Sanders and took the elevator back up to her floor.
She checked the time. 8am. Hopefully the demon that now lived in her home was either in a deep sleep or gone to her boyfriends house.
Ellis heard Violets bare footsteps as soon as she closed her front door. The hell was she running around for? What had Ellis done now?
"Ellis! Oh my god! I'm on the news, we're on the news! I have 10 thousand followers on Instagram, what the fuck!" Violet squealed as she rushed towards Ellis with a huge smile across her face.
This was the first time Ellis had seen Violets real smile.
The excitement made Violet oblivious for a few seconds as she crashed into Ellis and hugged her, still slightly jumping on her feet.
Ellis didn't really know how to react, and as much as she wanted to tell the annoying blonde to shut up and get out of her space, her happiness was contagious and Ellis ended up smiling and laughing at this new side of her.
Violet eventually came back to Earth and came away from Ellis, still letting out the last of her giggles while holding eye contact with the girl.
"You okay, blondie? I didn't think you'd be this happy to see me. You must've really missed me" Ellis teased.
