Park Jimin was never one to waste his time and energy on frivolous business relations.
His schedule for the day has already been emailed to him by his father's assistant. Mr. Choi Cheol-ho, a man in his forties has been serving his father for more than a decade, ever since Park Sunjae built his empire from nothing.
The man was a close confidant to his father. Jimin had heard the two men went to college together and Choi's family bad been the ones to fund Sunjae's academic expenses.
Mr. Cheol has stuck with Sunjae through thick and thin while his father was all alone to weather the storm. Sunjae didn't forget his best mate as he climbed the ladder to success.Though Jimin heard his father offer Cheol a partnership to their company assets, Mr. Choi declined the proposal politely. Seemingly struck with an immense respect for the man, Sunjae had put forward the proposition of a right-hand man, the word in itself too small to describe the bond the two men shared.
Despite the rich upbringing, Cheol had believed power comes from the efforts that one put into their actions. Your assets will definitely help you achieve eminence. But a man who paved his way, had laboriously worked out the path he chose to strive, is worthy of honor. Nonetheless, the fruit of your hardships will secure you a bright future, a reputed position in society and a safe future. So in the end what did it matter?
Sunjae had been one enthusiastic fellow when Cheol agreed to be his personal assistant, the man with an air of eerie calmness proving time and time again to be a reliable in more ways than possible to Jimin and his father.
Jimin had always admired Cheol's loyalty towards his father. The older park discusses everything with his long-time friend, the extent of negotiations between the duo bordering work related to personal, so it isn't far-fetched to assume that Cheol knows more about their family than him. Mr. Choi accompanies his father to almost all the company meetings. Occasionally, it would be Cheol making dealings in place of his father, and Sunjae leaves Cheol to handle his affairs.
Jimin had always admired Mr. Choi's loyalty towards his father. Except at times, he had wished to act without reserve.
Don't get him wrong. He doesn't dislike his role as an heir to his father's firm. Technically, him and his father are shareholders. If Sunjae was the one to establish the business, then Jimin was the golden ticket who brought fame and fortune to their corporation. If Jimin walks with his head held high, his shoulders straight, a little too prideful, it's because he is one of the most well-endowed, young handsome bachelors in the whole of Korea.
Keeping up a professional upfront wasn't difficult, given that's what Jimin has been trained to do for a decade. The neat ironed suits and slicked hair look are his standards for every occasion, be it for a boardroom meeting or a family celebration. What more, his Chelsea black boots and the countless jewelry collection combo had been a trendsetter.
Jimin felt a sense of advantage every time he stepped into his office in his professional attire. This supremacy isn't the kind where one would look down on his employees or subordinate, but the sort where he thrived in their attentions. He holds the authority to make changes, bring differences and that's like getting high on freedom since Jimin can remember the days that robbed him of his liberty to live life as it is. Compared to the nightmares of then, only for wishing to live his life peacefully, the Jimin of now is a free soul, careful but careless as well.
No one would expect the Park Jimin to act reckless because that just isn't in his DNA. A Park being sloppy? Never heard before. Yet, why is it exactly the thing he's been craving for badly these days?
