All Bo saw was a bright, blinding light. His dark hair turned white and his eyes gray. The spirit was liberated and inhabited the closest thing to it: Bogdan. He felt his soul mesh with something supernatural, something way bigger and greater than him. It felt like an eternal peace took over him, yet it only happened for the span of a second.
As everyone recovers from their fall, they'd get up and look at Bogdan. A once innocent young town boy was now wielding a power with unknown limits besides the mind. Rocking new hair and eyes too.
Now the ice spirit found a new bearer, the trolls could finally rest, thus their remains turn to stone.
As he regains consciousness, his grief sinks back in. He felt powerless and hopeless knowing he wasn't there to save his friends. But overall, he was overwhelmed with a sense of injustice. He couldn't understand why these people would go on a killing spree towards innocent creatures. He knew they were afraid, but to him it wasn't an excuse nor an explanation as to why they'd act in such a savage, ruthless way.
All of these feelings and thoughts rushed through his mind until he couldn't bare it anymore, so his soul released them and his powers manifested them into sharp ice spikes. These spikes emerged from the freezing ground faster than the mind can react, and one by one, they impaled many at the scene. The survivors were shocked, and some run away while others stayed to keep Bo busy.
While all of that happened, some survivors rolled down the mountain, escaping Bogdan's wrath. The limped over to the main plaza at the village where they warned everyone about what was really going on. The townspeople could already tell by the distance that something off was happening, but now they had confirmation. The story they told was that Bogdan made a deal with one of the devilish trolls to become a powerful Ice Mage, and now he's going on a killing spree.
The man who previously set a caged troll on fire decided to blame Bo's little sister and mother. He quickly blames them for Bo's actions, claiming they must've known, claiming they must've taught him the devil's ways. The more he rambled about it, the more the townspeople's fear grew. Finally, the man ordered they must be captured and killed immediately before they spread any more evil.
The collective forcefully grabs Bo's mom and sister, forcing them both on ropes, ignoring their screaming and their explanations. The mom tried begging for her daughter to be spared as she is but a child, but her pleads went unheard. Finally, the commotion is silenced by a huge flashing blast from the mountain, accompanied by a loud explosion. Whatever Bo had done, it was clear that he finished. The people silently waited for him as his mother and sister are tied to a stake.
After some minutes, Bogdan's silhouette emanates from the fog in front of everyone. He is covered in scars and blood. The first thing he sees is his family members about to be burnt.
-Mom! Sister! -Bo shouts and tries to run, but a voice stops him.
-Ice Mage! -The man who's been controlling the multitude shouts.
-My name is Bogdan. -He responds with a shaky voice.
-You're wielding evil sorcery, you've gone mad and killed your own! You're a monster!
-I'm... I'm not a monster! You all are! Those creatures... they're not demons! They were innocent, capable of no harm!
-Those little thieves and tricksters are but demonic entities here to make of us what they've made of you!
-You've got it all wrong... I... I was just trying to protect them. -Bo tries to reason with the man, now approaching slowly, but he is shot with an arrow to the shoulder.
-You, and everyone shall witness what happens to those who fall into temptation and wish to make deals with the depths of hell. Burn them! -The man orders as Bo struggles to get up the ground.
Fire is set beneath the feet of Bo's sister and mom. The flames slowly rise as they scream and cry for help, but Bogdan couldn't do anything. He tried to shoot his ice powers, putting the fire off momentarily before he is grabbed by more soldiers, holding him down. The fire is set once more with no stopping this time.
Bogdan struggled and kicked, trying to get the men off of him. Sadly, he was missing every single ice blast, all because the unfolding scene of his innocent family being burned alive is keeping him in a state of shock. The people cheer as the flames consume the women, soon enough bringing an end to their pain.
The grief becomes unbearable. Its so intense, and the silence is so loud. Bogdan surrenders completely, but his magic manifested this in a way no one saw coming. He froze himself entirely like a statue, for his heart wished for the pain to stop forever.
The Night Mage will be back.
