CHAPTER 6: FACING THE MUSIC

Eunbyul POV:

Out of happiness, I did something stupid - I replied yes. I don't know why I did that; it was just foolish of me. I don't even know what to wear. I have to decline him. I took my laptop, and I really wanted to decline, but he had already seen it. He was happy and sent a happy emoji.

The next day at school, people were talking about the ball. They were so excited, but I wasn't, since I wasn't going anyway. I'll just have to disappoint V142. I saw Min Jin and his crew; I guess he's not going with his girlfriend. Hmm, why did she even blame me for her breakup? It's not like I did anything wrong.

I was lost in thought again when I bumped into Minjin.

I looked up, and he didn't seem happy. "Are you blind? Can't you keep your head straight for once?" one of his teammates, Jungkook, said. "I'm sorry. It's fine; please keep your head straight next time, okay." Other students began to laugh, and I quickly left.

Everyone was talking about the ball, so I sat on a bench. I saw Roshi and her gang bullying Bora. Well, I shouldn't get involved, but she's still my friend, and I have to help her. I went over, and Roshi was about to slap Bora, but I stopped her. I finally stood up for myself and Bora, gave her a piece of my mind, and warned her and the other bullies not to bully us again. I dragged Bora's hand away.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" I asked her. She hugged me and started crying, telling me everything that had happened to her - how she was being bullied by Roshi and her gang, which is why she acted strangely. She didn't want me to get involved.

I cleaned her tears and hugged her back. We became friends again, walked home together, and discussed the ball. I told her everything that had happened between V142 and me. "Well, you should go." "No, I can't; I don't have clothes." We entered the cafe, and Bora, with her big mouth, told Sunmi and HyeRi everything. They got excited, told me not to worry, and said they had me covered.

THE DAY OF THE BALL

Min Jin POV:

Everyone gathered at the hall with their masks on. I removed mine, and all the girls stared at me like they were about to eat me. Two twins approached me, asking for a dance, then started arguing. I just left them in the middle, waiting for Cinderella to come. I texted her, hoping she would come, but I still hadn't seen her. Roshi and her new boyfriend came to me, asking about my date, but I just ignored them.

The dance soon began, and everyone went to their various partners, dancing. I was quite annoyed and about to leave when I saw her...
