"Where the fuck have you been?!" Dad shouted before Maddie and I even had a chance to close the door.

"You didn't even say hello." I whisper. Dad glared at me.

"You think this is funny? You know what could've happened?!" He fumed.

"Well nothing happened." I remarked.

"Nicolle, for God's sake your 22 years old! Stop acting like your a little kid. People your age should not be at fairs or arcades." He hissed.

"With all due respect, Mr. Garcia, going to the fair was my idea. I bribed Nicolle into going so I take all accountability if anything happened." Maddie lied. Gosh, I loved her so much.

"Maddie, I've known you for 20 years. We both know damn well that you wouldn't do such a reckless thing. We all know your a little goody two shoes." Dad explained. If only he knew.

"No le hables de esa manera. Ella está tratando de salvarme el trasero de ti. No me pongas a prueba." I yelled. (Don't fucking speak to her that way. She's trying to save my ass from you. Don't fucking test me.)

"Hija mía, no hay necesidad de calentarse. Estamos teniendo una conversación de padre a hija. Pero me gustaría discutir un asunto importante con usted. Solo." He laughed. (My daughter, no need to get heated. we're having a father to daughter conversation. But I'd like to discuss an important matter with you. Alone.)

"Hi, I think you forgot I don't understand Spanish." Maddie blurted.

"Sorry. Um, we're gonna have a one on one conversation. Let Thomas know that I'll drive home by myself." I tell her.

"Okay..." She sideyes my dad. "Call me if you need anything or if he... says something."

"I will. Bye." I gave her a hug before she leaves.

"Jake Human called." Those words told me everything I needed to know.

"I'm not doing it." I gulped.

"Kind of late for that, princesa. I already told him yes. You have a dinner reservation tonight at 6 at Giovanni's. The Press will be outside asking you some questions, put on a big smile, and then enjoy your dinner."

Silence fell among us but soon I snapped. "What the fuck is wrong with you! I've told you a hundred times I'm not doing it."

"Nicolle! It's been 2 years. Get over it. So what he cheated on you? He's rich! He has great connections that can make both of our companies strong." Maybe I didn't tell dad the whole truth about why I broke up with Jake. But if he knew, everybody's world would turn upside down.

"I can't believe you. Your putting money over your own daughters happiness." I did sound a little selfish, because my dad didn't know the whole story. But, if this was the whole story, my dad was being an asshole.

"This is going to benefit both of us in the future. Your too stubborn to realize that now."

"You really are the devil."

"And your the devil's daughter. Don't forget that." He whispered in my ear. Deep down I had no choice not to go. Before Jake and I broke up, I made him promise not to tell anyone about why we did break up. But refusing this, Jake would tell the whole world in a heartbeat.

"I'll be ready at 6." I mumbled, fighting back my tears.

"That's my girl." He smiled.

"Bye, dad."
