Growing up Raven always felt like a freak.
Raven never knew her birth parents to her knowledge she had been placed in an orphanage since she was a baby and moved around since then.
Everywhere she went she was viewed as something scary and horrifying. Because she had a darkness around her that most considered paranormal.
Others saw it as demons.
A bad omen.
Soon it was hard to keep her placed in a foster home for longer than a night.
That is until she was taken to a nuns sanctuary where the nuns prayed for her daily. The girl willingly accepted the theirs prayers but it never seemed to be good enough as bad things continued to happen and the darkness grew worse.
In the dark if she looked in a mirror she would see red eyes staring back at her. Sometimes sitting she would even notice four red glowing eyes instead of two until she turned the light on.
At first Raven would cry at the other children's ridicules at school growing up. But over time she built a cold exterior and an act of indifference.
She knew she wasn't like other kids and soon grew to accept it and try to find ways to tame her darkness. And she finally found the way.
Meditation and isolation.
Spending a lot of time meditating or reading alone really helped the girl learn control over her abilities. Only when someone really irked her did she lose control and even then it was more so she would snap and show scary shadows that would scare the annoying person away.
Of course Raven saw the creatures that the normal naked eyes couldn't see. Sometimes they would be latched to peoples shoulders or just be crawling around all creepy like but Raven ignored them.
Staring at things that no one else could see would only add to her weirdness in others eyes.
The nuns after years of noticing no improvement began to reach out globally to find anyone who could try and explain the girls.... Unigueness.
And finally.... They came across a principle of a school in Japan who seemed more than willing to take in the girl.
Because unbeknownst to everyone at the religious compound....
Raven was part of a dark prophecy.
One to destroy the world.
