Every Halloween season since Constance Pines could remember, she has been told over and over again about the Sanderson sisters. The Sanderson sisters were known to be violent. They had their fare share of good looks, and they were masterminds of manipulation. Their one goal in life was to be beautiful and young forever. Normal people would just be fine with who they were, but they didn't. Mary, Sarah and Winnifred were special. Special in a way that people were frightened. They were witches, yes you read that right. Some people believe, some people don't. Connie's inbetween.
One year, before the three of them were hung and banished, they got their last soul, from a child named Emily Binx. She died at the end before her big brother Thackery Binx could save her. Tragically, Thackery was hit with a spell by the oldest Sanderson, Winnifred. They wanted to punish him for causing them trouble, so Winnifred looked through her precious book, full of powerful spells. He did not die like she said. He was turned into a black cat, that stays in their old house for years. Until this Halloween where four kids will save him and bring him back to his family.
Constance was sitting in her history class. It was her favorite time of the year, Halloween. She loves everything about it, the creepy tales, the cute and scary decorations, especially the candy. Something that she's heard of many times are the Sanderson sisters, and here she is currently listening to her teacher talk about them, just like what every teacher did on Halloween. Even though Connie loved history, the story took up most of the period, and she couldn't be more grateful.
Connie was in her desk, which was located in the middle of the classroom, her bookbag was under her seat so that if her teacher, Mrs.Olin was walking around she wouldn't step on it and trip. Her best friend Allison Watts, was sitting two desks away from her. The two girls have been best friends ever since they were about ten years old. Her mother used to work with Allison's mom in the Sanderson house, which is now a gift shop, but she stopped and is now a bank teller. Connie's mom Enid knows that that house has many memories, so she was okay with her daughter spending time around that house with Allison when either herself or Allison's mom was working, but now it's a rule that she can't go inside it or near it. Her mom just worries about her daughters safety, even if the stories might be false.
