I wake up in a carriage, hands tied, unsure of my surroundings, then I remember, I was trying to cross the border into a land I had heard so much about, Skyrim. I start to look around, trying to get feel for where they are taking me, and all the other prisoners. The prisoner across from me then speaks up, "hey, you're finally awake. You tried to cross the border, right? Same as us and that thief." The guy next to me then replies, "damn you Stormcloaks".
We soon arrive in Helgen, and that's where we learn that all of us prisoners are about to be executed, someone tries to run, but he is quickly killed by an archer. Soon, it's my turn, I step up to the block and the executioner raises his axe, but before the axe comes down, a dragon appears, the first one in centuries. Everyone starts running for their lives, scared of the power of the dragon. I run too, as I run, I see the destruction around me, the children screaming, the houses burning, arrows flying, people dying, families crying. As I enter the keep and close the door, I don't look back, I then proceed to look at the only other person who had escaped to the keep, one of the other prisoners.
He introduces himself as Ralof as we make our way through the keep, we soon exit from a cave, at the edge of Helgen, we start running, knowing we need to get to Riverwood, to spread the word of dragons returning to the land. As we approach Riverwood, we come across three magic stones, called the guardian stones. Stones like these are scattered all over the land, gifting magical powers to those who connect to them. I looked at the three options, the mage stone, the thief stone, or the warrior stone. I decide on the warrior stone, as it will help my smithing, we then continue our journey to Riverwood.
We walk under the big wooden bridge and into Riverwood, a guard walks over to us, "did you see the dragon, it looked like it attacked Helgen and then flew off?" we tell him we were in Helgen when the dragon attacked, but don't mention what we were doing there. "One of you needs to go to Whiterun and tell them to send more guards, I don't think we could kill a dragon ourselves."
I volunteer and start my trek, I arrive just before night falls, as I'm about to walk through the gates, two guards stop me. "(city's closed due to dragon sightings, go find help somewhere else)" I quickly reply with the truth "(I have news from Helgen about the dragon attack)" one guard then tells me to quickly tell the jarl, as he might be interested in what I know. As I arrive at the top of the city, I am greeted by giant doors of a mighty castle, a guard lets me inside.
As I greet the jarl, I bow, as all should do in the presence of one, I tell him what I'm here about and he then asks that I follow him upstairs, as to not scare his children or the citizens. When we're in the war room, I tell him about the attack, and the destruction of Helgen, and how Riverwood fear that they're next. I am then informed that they expect the dragon to attack the nearby tower, and they, want MY help, I say I'll try, but might not succeed.
I run to the tower with six or so guards, as the dragon circles around it, we enter as it takes its first breath, burning the door, and one of the guards to ash. As we make it to the top of the tower, another guard knocked off the edge, and he falls to his doom. As we fire our first volley of arrows, the dragon comes through again, picking up the guard next to me in its jaws, quickly eating them. A guard falls down the stairs as the dragon lands on the tower, whilst I slash at it with my sword. The wind from the dragon knocks a guard to the ground, and he gets killed by his own sword.
As the second last guard retreats, the dragon makes a whole in the wall of the tower, and cuts the guard in half with its claws. I then jump down on the dragon, stabbing my sword through its thick skull, killing it in an instant. As we fall to the ground, I see the last guard fleeing, when I'm about to hit the ground, the dragon's body disintegrates, and a gust of wind blows it into me. When I land, I feel strong, I release a shout, throwing the guard to the ground, "you just might a be dragonborn." the guards says as I help him to his feet. "What is that?" I reply, "its someone who can channel the power of the dragons, they are the heroes of Skyrim" the guard says back.
As we approach the city of Whiterun once more, guards start cheering, and congratulating me for slaying the dragon, the guard that was with me proceeds to start telling his friends about what happened at the tower, I even see the jarl just inside the gates, waiting to thank me for my work, he then has his steward give me a bag of gold, "this is an appreciation for what you've done for us, please accept our thanks." I take the bag of gold and start walking back to Riverwood, so I can meet up with Ralof again.
When I finally arrive, I am greeted by delphine, the inn keeper of the Sleeping Giants Inn, she skips formalities and takes us to one of the far rooms of the inn, where she shuts the door. I look around, when I open the wardrobe, I find a secret passage, she ushers us down, "another dragon has been sighted in the skies, so, dragonborn, you know what you need to do?" I smile, "let's go get it!"
