"Good luck, Ivypool!" Hawkfrost called out from where he was watching the mock battle. Giving the dark brown tabby a brief nod, Ivypool focused on her opponent, Sunstrike. The tortoiseshell she-cat was weaving back and forth, and at last, she sprang. Dodging swiftly, Ivypool knocked Sunstrike down with a blow to her shoulder, and while the WindClan she-cat was still dazed, leapt forward to give her a nip on the shoulder.
Flinching, Sunstrike dug her claws deep into Ivypool's shoulder. The slender ThunderClan she-cat thrust herself away, lashing out at Sunstrike's muzzle. A growl in her throat, Sunstrike charged and the two she-cats fought together for a few moments, claws swiping furiously at each other.
"All right, enough." Hawkfrost came up to separate them. The dark brown tabby's ice-blue eyes were unreadable. "Tell me, did you do anything wrong?"
"No," Sunstrike replied immediately, looking smug. Hawkfrost lashed out and tore a jagged rip on her ear and sneered, "Try again. Don't be so complacent." Watching from slitted eyes, Ivypool thought carefully before answering, " Well, Sunstrike was too focused on her own attacks, but she should have thought about what I was going to do. I was slower than Sunstrike, and should have dodged quicker."
Approval glinting in his eyes, Hawkfrost praised, "Exactly, Ivypool. You're going to be an excellent warrior here!" Letting out a short purr, Ivypool's heart beat faster. Gazing into his ice-blue eyes made her seem very comfortable, and she longed to lean against that thick brown fur...
