Dieties in dilemma
Lord Indra, who was witnessing everything from Swargaloka (Elysium) was deeply worried. His advisors suggested him, "Shouldn't we consult Lord Brahma for the same? He will definitely help us. After all, he is performing austerity for Lord Brahma himself." Lord Indra replied, "He won't listen to us. We showed Vritraksh a glimpse of his horrible future and yet he was resilient enough to continue the austerity. Lord Brahma will definitely be happy with his austerity and definitely bless him with a boon. Nobody knows what boon he will get but its definitely not going to be in favour of us." Agnidev, one of the ashtavasus, replied, "Lord brahma won't offer him immortality. In the entire cosmos, it is impossible for any being to be immortal. However, Vritraksh desire to rule the universe and beyond. He wishes to defeat Lord Vishnu of Divyaloka (Celestia). Though the asuras have grown weaker with time, we still don't know anything about the capabilities of Vritraksh." Vayudev replied, "One thing we do know for sure that Vritraksh is the most brutal demon known till date. He is extremely barbaric, hateful, power hungry and ambitious demon ever witnessed by the cosmos. We should have got rid of this demon when he was a child. Today he stands as the greatest threat in front of us."
Lord Indra starts reciting, "We did try to kill him when he was a child. We also tried to kill him the day he was born. Our greatest allies on Shrishtiloka (Genesis), Vyasti Raksha Samiti, sent its men to infilterate Patalaloka (Sub Terra). Most of them were killed by demon guards and soldiers. Some were caught. The birth ceremony of Vritraksh was celebrated with brutal sacrifice of those caught soldiers of Vyasti Raksha Samiti. We still have spies in the palace of Demon lord Danavendra and among the commoners of Sub Terra, who provide us with a lot of useful information." "O lord Indra! These demons are treacherous. Espionage isn't going to work against demons." replied Agnidev, "It always ends with a war between dieties and demons." Lord Indra replied, "I myself tried to kill Vritraksh when he was a child. I sneaked in the Sub Terra and took the form of a demon. I saw that demon child Vritraksh playing a game along with his cousins. A game of brutality. A game that makes a demon bloodthirsty and ruthless. Demons often capture humans and other living beings from Genesis. They either feast on their meat or they offer that living being to their children to play this brutal game in which that harmless living being will try to survive from the attacks of demon children. Demon children would chase that living being all over the place. It could be a nearby lava crator area or some burning plain land surface of Sub Terra. Those demon children would throw fireballs or metallic blades or knives towards that living being who tries to escape. One who kills that living being in the end gets to feast on the meat of that living being. The rest of the bones are left for other demon children who participated."
Lord Indra continues speaking, "I was waiting for the right moment to attack that demon child when I saw that demon child, along with his cousins, chasing a human. Vritraksh made most of the attacks and that human was on the verge of dying. He pleaded that demon child to kill him. To which Vritraksh answers, "You humans have thrived upon deception of dieties and suffering of demons. You don't deserve to live. Hell you don't deserve an easy, painless death. Killing a human like you is as simple as killing an insect, the way you do it in your home world. I enjoy inflicting pain to a creature like you. You will experience each and every moment of intolerable suffering and brutalising pain. Your agony will be so grave that you will beg me for ending your life, and still I won't do it. Your pain is my satisfaction." and then he pierces a red hot rod in his nails. That human was screaming in pain. The agony was being reflected in that painful scream. I saw Kalraksh, younger brother of Vritraksh, trying to end that human's life but Vritraksh looked at him in a mixed feeling of disagreement, hate and anger. That human, unable to bear that pain, died. Kshayank, who was the elder son of Danavendra's younger brother Dvishat, came forth and said, "Finally we have killed that weakling. Time to distribute the food equally." Vritraksh growled a bit, he then turned towards Kshayank and said, "What do you mean by equal distribution?" Kshayank who was always envy of Vritraksh, said "I think I am pretty much clear. Its not like you were the only person hunting this meat. This dead body has scars from everyone's claws. We hunt the way you do. So why you should get all the meat while we happily accept the leftover bones? You might be the prince but in here you are just a hunter like us and you will get what everybody gets." Vritraksh was standing still with his eyes red and body ready to pounce. He was growling in anger. Kshayank's younger sister Dakshinee interrupted him in between however he continued, "Infact I think you haven't done anything close to what we did to get this prey. All you did is pounce on this human while we were chasing him down the lava mountains. There is no serious effort required for that, given this soft human flesh could be torn apart by an infant demon baby. You should rather sit here and watch us distributing this meat equally among three of us, thinking about how you could be more resourceful the next time."
The seed of vengence
Demonlord Danavendra and Dvishat were watching their kids having a conflict among each other which was about to turn into an unwanted brutality. They chose not to interfere in their kids. They witnessed Kshayank trying to block his face as Vritraksh pounced on him with lightening speed, the moment Kshayank finished his last words. Vritraksh attacked Kshayank's face multiple times. They saw Vritraksh not giving him a chance to fight back. Kshayank's right hand was broken, then his heart was ripped out of his demonic body. Vritraksh davoured his heart. Dvishat looked at his brother, Lord Danavendra who looked very happy. Vritraksh, who was a 10 years old boy at that time, davoured the remaining body of Kshayank, his cousin. His lava blood was all over Vritraksh's body. He then roared very loudly in anger looking in the sky. His roar being as loud as millions of thundering clouds. Right in front of Dvishat, his son was davoured by Vritraksh. Dvishat rushed towards Vritraksh with his rapier, only to be stopped by the bodyguards. Dakshinee pounced at Vritraksh with her claws and gave a cut on his throat. Vritraksh immidiately took her down and started choking her. Dakshinee was growling in rage and terror. Dvishat was yelling in rage, "You won't be spared, you baby boy. You will have it from me for what you did to my son!" Demonlord Danavendra was looking at him while he growled.
