¦Chapter 8 part 2 ¦

"if you find someone you
love in your life, then hang
on to that love"

- princess Diana

I was drifting off into a peaceful sleep, snuggled under my warm blankets, when a sudden vibration bedside me from my bed jolted me awake.

"What now?" I mumbled, still half-asleep, as I reached for my phone. I squinted at the bright screen, rubbing my eyes to adjust to the light. It was a text from Kiawentiio.

Where are you?

It's Dallas' birthday!  I need your decorating help ASAP.  Ian's like a lost puppy when it comes to balloons, I need a pro!

No helium? Cause if there's No helium, don't expect me to blow a single balloon.

Don't worry We have helium, but the problem is we don't know how to tie it. You have those dainty fingers - you'd be amazing at this!"

Alright, fine.  I'll save the day.  I'm on my way.  Don't let Ian touch anything.

Uh... [Name]? He already did earlier. I had like pop 5 or 6 balloons I think

Honey, you've got to be kidding me

Well what are we gonna do? He volunteered to do it and we put our trust on him but the process isn't trusting

Okay I'm coming right up
Don't let him touch anything

As I slipped my feet into my shoes, I grabbed my phone and dialed Martin's number.

Morning, Martin.  Can you pick me up at the hotel?  I'm heading over to Dallas' birthday party.

Only if I'm invited

You're invited, silly!  I thought the rascal one you're babysitting would have told you.

Gordon:

I'm here, okay?  I'm here, [Name], I can hear you loud and clear what your saying right now

Actually, never mind. Don't pick me up I'll just call a cab

Woah there, why is Gordon with him?  I muttered to myself, I hurried out of the hotel, grabbing my bag and calling for a taxi. I stood on the curb, a sleek Mercedes Benz pulled up beside me, stopping with a soft hiss of brakes.  The passenger-side window rolled down, revealing a familiar face.  "Need a little ride?"

"Jared? Since when did you arrive?" I exclaimed, utterly surprised.

"Miss me already?" he chuckled, his eyes twinkling. "Let me guess, you're going to Dallas' birthday party.  You seem to be in a bit of a hurry."
