Can you see the sand, it's running. Slipping down my hands, they grief.
Knows it passes, holding onto things you know you'll never see.
Oh my grasp once so strong, you hurt and now my hopes are gone.
Letting loose so I won't cling, burden you under my wings.
Tried protecting what we had, this pretty thing, now shards so sharp.
I cut my skin, my flesh, my bone, I felt you in a deeper tone.
Your words they still ring in my head, but I'm the one who made it back.
Can't believe you were once more, more than a stranger I once called.
Called you mine you called me yours, now there's a hole were once were you.
No strength to end it, that's okay, you wouldn't notice anyway.
