I had never really pondered the moment of impending death before. But now, lying on the cold ground, gasping for my final breaths, I understood it all too well. The chill of the earth beneath me seemed to echo the creeping inevitability of death itself. It was almost ironic, this bitter realization, that even in my final moments, I could find a trace of disdain. How foolish it all seemed, how futile. If only things had played out differently, if only I could rewrite the past that now felt so distant. The screams that moments ago pierced the air were fading into a distant murmur as I cast one last glance at the sky. Death seemed to linger, almost too calm, too serene. Was this really it? Was death supposed to be this peaceful, or was it merely hiding its true nature behind a facade of tranquility?
