Mi tired a school honestly..
"Mi just did ago come dash some water pan yuh eno.. wanda if yuh nah guh school.." my grandma burst into my room.
Taking my phone from the night table, I stared at the time in shock.
That must've been the third my alarm went off.
A suh mi deaf?
Even though I'm a sixth former, we all have to be on school grounds by 8 am.
Then this mek sense?
Betta mi stay a mi yaad.
"How mi nah hear di pipe a run yet?" I hear my grandma's voice.
Nvm yah.
I quickly ran to the bathroom to complete my morning routine.
After putting on my undergarments, I slid into school uniform.
Grabbing my bag, I rushed to the front door.
"Mi ago give yuh extra money suh yuh can warm up yuh stomach" she hands me 2500.
I normally get 1000, sometimes an extra 500.
Taking the money, I exited the house, waking to the main road.
I instantly connected my airpods, clicking on the new 'Sugar Honey Iced Tea' album by Latto.
One of my favs.
"Psst" I heard but continued my journey.
Bet seh a one big old man.
I heard it once again.
"Mary grand-daughter a you mi a talk eno" I pretended not to hear.
"Stinking man, lowe di people dem pickney" a lady says and he walks away.
"Halfway tree, Cross road, town" I heard while arriving at the bus stop.
"Ekki, yuh nah guh up?" A conductor asked me.
Seeing that the bus had seats, I went in.
📍Excelsior High
Making my way towards the gate, I sped up my pace.
Checking my phone for the fifth time, I realized it was way past 8:00.
Oh God.
Wanda if dem ago let me in?
I then saw one of my favorite security guards.
