               A Familiar

Shriya and Christy were currently on the bed, discussing the events of their lives.

"And so-"

But before the sentence could finish, the door bell rang.

Shriya got up, shouted "Im coming!"

and went downstairs.

She opened the door to see an old friend, who was none other than Margaret.

Shriya's eyes widened in surprise and happiness as she hugged her friend Margaret.

"Hey! How are you?"

Margaret questioned.

"I'm good, what about you? You came so suddenly!"

"Yeah, I'm good too. And I knoww but I just missed my friends so I decided to visit them y'know?"

Margaret said as she broke free from the hug.

"Oh that's nice. Come in."

Shriya said as she gestured for Margaret to go inside

"So, where's Christy?"

"Oh- she's upstairs. We were discussing about our life and stuff. Come join."

She said as she pulled Margaret upstairs.

"Oh well, good to know you're still your old self!"

"I'll take that as a compliment."

Shriya said as they both laughed and entered her bedroom.

"Wait wait- so you're telling me that you and Akhir applied for the same job?! And Mahadur is the CEO?!"

Margaret questioned with wide eyes.

"Yes. And it really sucks. But the very good part is, I'm definitely NOT getting selected."

Shriya sighed in relief.

"Well yeah, I guess so. But very bold of you to curse infront of those people."

Margaret laughed.

"For real! She was sooo brave."

Christy laughed alongside Margaret.

"I was just shocked. It WAS very shocking."

"Well anyways, you're lucky you're not getting selected!"

"I definitely am."

"So sir, these are the people we have selected for the job.
What are your thoughts?"

The lady asked as she handed the paper to the man.

He hummed as he took the paper and carefully examined the names listed.

"I want to make an adjustment."

"Sure thing. We'll get it done right away. What's the adjustment sir?"

"I want that Shriya girl to be listed here."

The man said as he stared at the paper.

"But sir- she was not well mannered and the first thing she did was curse! That's very unprofessional and unethical. Would you like to rethink sir?"

The lady questioned as she protested.

"I don't have to rethink. I already made up my mind."

He said as he handed the paper back and left.

The people in the room all gave eachother confused and disagreeing looks to each other.

Can't blame them.
