Alter Earth (2024):
Mr Chai turned on the car speaker and melodious music came out. "Good song choice, na," he said loudly trying to break the silence in the car. His son was sitting beside him scrolling his phone for directions. "What do you think Mix, my lovely grandson?" asked the retired patriarch. "It's my husband's car, of course, the music would be nice," he commented and pulled his hoodie over his face. "Of course, Of course, haha, Gun, my obedient son-in-law, what about the scenery? Beautiful, isn't it?" asked the senior again. "Hmm," was the only answer that came from his mouth. "I brought some games, in case you want to entertain yourselves," said Mr. Chai and turned his head to the back seat. Suddenly a truck came in front of them. "Watch out Father," screamed Off and pulled the steering wheel to avoid the accident. "I would have met God today," shrieked Gun and jumped out of the jeep. "Son-in-law, it happens often. It's a mountain road after all," consoled Mr Chai. "Not when my entire family would have gone in a flash," said Off and hugged his husband and son. "You are making a huge deal of it, come get in," brushed Mr. Chai and started the engine. Off looked at his family and they refused in fear. He turned to this father and said," Father, I think I should drive. You sit beside me and give me directions." "Scared of this little thing. Life has a lot to offer after retirement. You have to fight a mountain Yeti, dodge the seductive power of a siren, and strengthen yourself for the harsh winter and boiling summer. Survive on the bare minimum," encouraged Mr. Chai. "Papi, gift me a cyanide when I turn the age," begged Gun, pulling the door and sitting inside reluctantly. "Mix, get in son, we have to find your beloved son, remember," reminded Mr. Chai. "I need to call my husband. Give me a minute," said Mix, and off trailed to call his husband.
Mr Earth was piled up with paperwork. Technically he still had to handle only Take-Two but the paperwork of Vaidya and Shishu needed his attention. His body ached at the thought of the family having fun in the mountains. He imagined his husband sticking his head out of the window, his in-laws showing each other the breathtaking views, and his grandfather-in-law whistling and driving across the terrain road. He ignored his phone calls while daydreaming when his secretary Yod came in. "Chief, Doc called," he said passing on the phone to his superior. "Tell me, my love, how are the mountains?" he asked Mix expecting loads of compliments. "Besides my grandfather trying mass killing his successors and the anxiety of not finding my son you tell me?" asked Mix back. "Why Seetian? What happened? Should I go there? Send me your location," asked Mr Earth worried. "We will manage. Are the establishments running smoothly?" asked Mix. "Trust on your Chief husband. I am there to solve all problems in your life," assured his husband. "You are the only one I can count on," said Mix. "Because I am your one and only, mwah!" kissed Mr Earth through the phone. "I love you too, jub jub," kissed Mix secretly.
"Lovely dovely couple," teased Mr Chai. "Grandfather! Let's go," said a shy Mix and got into the car. "Now my grandson comes home, all will be well," commented Off and his father drove higher into the mountains.
Our Earth (1945):
It had become a common sight for passersby and customers alike to see Sea pace around his workshop. The clink-clink sound of the metal forge was replaced by the occasional sound of frustration and kicking. People pitied the expert artisan who was no longer able to ignite the hearth. "What is the reason for your frustration today?" asked Mastan and entered the shop. "Forget it, why are you alone today? Where is Tayyab Ali?" asked Sea. "Went with Zulfi to meet Bhaijaan. They will be back for the evening prayer," said Mastan touching the hearth. He got up and touched the cold hearth and turned around. "On a side note, do you want to clean the workshop?" asked Mastan. "Why bother, anyways I lost the power to forge anything," sighed Sea. "Do you remember Shabeer, whenever you used to feel lost, you cleaned the place? Your place was cleaner than any shop in the whole bazaar. Come, I will help you get started," cheered Mastan and took a broom. Sea got up reluctantly and they both joined hands to clean the place.
Soon the place looked a lot more manageable and airy. "Much better. And I argued with Hia that cleaning doesn't do anything," said Sea and smiled. "Oh, look at the time brother, we have to hurry," said Mastan and ran along with Sea to the mosque.
The duo didn't see their group way after their prayers. They were all sitting in a sweetmeat shop. Jaggy was there too. "Did you miss me?" asked Tayyab Ali pinching Mastan's nose. "I did. Where were you all morning?" sulked Mastan. "Gone with this dumbass to talk about his feelings," said Tayyab Ali patting his head. "Feeling, huh? So now Bhaijaan and Zulfi are an official couple?" asked Shoaib. "Hush, nosy!" said Zulfi. "What's the harm in trying? If I run away from the idea I have lightened in all of you, that won't be fair," said Bhaijaan. "Have you met anyone more brave than him, tell?" asked Zulfi hugging his lover. "Only hug? Mastan and I do more than that despite being friends," right?" asked Tayyab Ali to Mastan and he nodded. "I won't be surprised if it was your couple next," teased Sea. Jaggy momentarily looked in his direction and then turned his head. Sea noticed it and remained mum. "Yesterday, we thought Bhaijaan was confessing to him. We were so ready to consol our dear Zulfi who had hopelessly given his heart to him," revealed Shoaib. "My friend here had his fears of being rejected by the only person he thought was his sexual type. That's why he fake confessed to me. Who knew you guys were watching?" said Jaggy looking at Sea's direction. "My life is blessed, my crush liked me too," screamed Zulfi at the top of his lungs irritating the passersby. "Look at this man, crazy in love," said Alam and hugged Zulfi. "So Bhaijaan became part of our group?" recounted Tayyab Ali and got up to pay. "He always was. Now he is more intimate as my lover, right darling?" asked Zulfi and Bhaijaan nodded in agreement. "Let's disperse then. I have to go material shopping today. Anyone coming?" asked Shoaib. "Count me and Tayyab Ali in," said Mastan. "Me going with you is given," said Alam. "Spare me, I have to go on a date to the theatres with my love," informed Zulfi. "Shabeer will go with us too. Zulfi, Shabeer, me, and Jaggy," added Bhaijaan. "Alright then, meet y'all for morning prayer," said Alam and they dispersed.
