The four stopped in front of the theater as Bhaijaan went in to purchase the tickets. "So, which film are watching today," asked Sea trying to start a conversation. "All I know is we are sitting super close to each other. Content of the film is my secondary thought right now," revealed Zulfi and brushed his hair. "I can see that. Still, the poster must be up here somewhere," said Sea and searched for the poster. "I shall check on Ansari, you guys stand in line," said Jaggy and walked towards his friend.

"Brother, what do you think of this outfit, I don't stand out much do I?" asked Zulfi straightening his kurta. "No way, are you planning to make out with Bhaijaan?" asked Sea suspiciously. "Are you crazy? I came to watch the film," said Zulfi in a way that made Sea laugh. "Okay, even if I take it for word, why would his friend tag along?" asked Sea. "Haven't you too? The point is we shouldn't look suspicious," revealed Zulfi. "Ho, as if I begged you to bring me here. I would have rather chilled at home," said Sea. "You might not have but his friend suggested your name. Please, buddy, sitting beside a friend's friend won't hurt, right?" asked Zulfi and hugged Sea.

In Sea's mind, the definition of an old theater was a luxurious auditorium with a screen showing pictures. But, when he saw the people sitting on mats and benches, he wasn't looking forward to it anymore. Nevertheless, he had to respect his friends' choices and sat on a four-seater bench. Zulfi and Bhaijaan had already taken the corner seat while Jaggy and he had to squish in together. "Comfortable everyone?" asked Bhaijaan and they nodded. The lights went off and the film began.

Bhaijaan and Sea watched the film intently. Zulfi tried understanding but gave up in a few minutes. "Badru?" he called Bhaijaan carefully. "Hmm," said Bhaijaan totally into the movie. "Can I kiss you?" "Come again?" asked Bhaijaan. "I want to kiss you," said Zulfi. "Here? Isn't it too crowded?" asked Bhaijaan looking here and there. But every eye seemed to be glued to the film. "Quick," said Bhaijaan, and Zulfi kissed his lips. "I thought, you did kiss on the cheek," said Bhaijaan and turned around. "Badru? May I hold your hand?" asked Zulfi boldly. "Why? Concentrate on the film," said Bhaijaan and pushed Zulfi's face towards the screen only to find the leads stuck in a steamy situation.

"Do you like the film?" asked Jaggy to Sea. "It's okay, not a masterpiece but still I can bear with it," said Sea. "I was thinking, can we talk outside for a moment?" asked Jaggy. "And why would I walk out with you?" asked Sea. "Because of what is happening on our side for instance," said Jaggy and pointed out to their friends who were making out in the corner. "Oi, Zulfi, hold your horses we are in a theater," scolded Sea. "We aren't the only ones making out, the whole theater is," said Zulfi and turned around to fill Badru's mouth with his tongue.

Sea was disgusted and ran out puking. He had seen people making out before but this mass love-making session drew utmost disgust outta him. "Need some water to gargle?" asked Jaggy. "No, I am good," said Sea and sat on the staircase. "Here, smell a lemon to refresh your senses," offered Jaggy and sat beside him. "Why are you carrying a lemon with you?" asked Sea and took the citrus. "Vitamin C is one of my favorite vitamins to consume," winked Jaggy. "Excuse me!" asked Sea and smelled the lemon. "Nothing, I guess we should go back, the theater is too hot..." said Jaggy and got up, stretching his hands for Sea. "What about the ticket prices, it must be expensive," said Sea as he refused Jaggy's hands. "Doesn't matter, it got the work done," said Jaggy mysteriously. "Why are you talking in code?" asked Sea. "I have a problem stating anything 'straight'," said Jaggy and walked ahead.

The duo walked out and reached a junction where they were supposed to part ways. Yet Jaggy followed Sea towards his destination. "Why are you following me? Didn't you leave your road behind?" asked Sea now very suspicious of this guy. "I just wanted to assure your safety. Is it a bad thing to do?" asked Jaggy. "Is that so, how nice of you? But I am perfectly fine to walk on this path. I am a regular here, you can leave, Mister," said Sea and paced ahead, trying to lose the guy.

Sea walked faster and soon he wasn't able to see the man following him. He heaved a sigh of relief and slowed down his walk towards the house. Suddenly, two men pounced on Sea. "Who are you guys?" asked Sea mentally looking for a weapon. "Don't you know? I heard he lost his marbles. Shall we remind him?" laughed a guy. They both were too bulky for Sea to take down so he pushed one of them and ran. The guys ran behind him, swinging their weapons. The chase continued until he was cornered in a narrow alley. "Don't come near me, what do you want?" asked Sea walking backward. "Nothing just your head, or a firm promise," said another man. "I compile to later, please let me go," begged Sea. "How can we be assured you won't cause a problem later on?" asked another guy. "Trust me man, I want to avoid the problem much more than you do. Please don't beat me up," said Sea. The guys looked at each other and said, "Fine, meet us tomorrow with your gang at the Ruins. And no crafty works otherwise I shall kill all of you," he threatened and the duo left.

Sea's legs gave away and he sat down with a thud. People confronting wasn't a new thing, he was rich and his family had connections to the mafia. But his bodyguards always surrounded him. Today, he could have almost lost his life, without knowing the reason why. Never in his life, had he felt this weak and he wasn't sure this wouldn't happen to him again. Where in the universe he had landed? There was no way home. He missed his family, he missed his Papa and his family dog Sugar. He missed Jimmy.

"Nong, Nong Sea? Where are you darling?" called a voice. The voice became louder as the person's tone grew desperate. "Nong, tap on something so that I can hear you, Hia is here," instructed the voice. The voice grew closer and closer until Sea was able to see a figure in the dark. "Nong!" screamed the voice in relief and hugged Sea. "Hia," said Sea and hugged Jimmy.

Alter Earth (2024):

The group reached an accommodation near the top of a smaller mountain. The rent was expensive and they were on a budget so they ended up taking a single room with two floors. Gun and Mix were assigned the upper floor while Off reluctantly agreed to share a bed with his father.

"Where do you want to sleep, son?" asked Gun and Mix chose the side near the wall. "Okay, sleep tight," said Gun and covered them with the blanket. It was deep into the night when Mix heard the sound of footsteps approaching their bed. "Papa, someone is coming upstairs," he called his papa. "Who is it?" asked Gun and threw a pillow at the person. "It's me Babi, your husband," said Off. "Papi? What are you doing here?" asked Gun as Off squeezed at the side putting Mix in the center. "That old man snores loudly. God that drives me insane," he said and kissed his husband and child and slept. "What happened to him?" laughed Mix. "He was always like this, you only stuck to your husband and kids," defended Gun. "Papa, stop bringing in my kids and husband in every conversation," whined Mix. "Ho, before they were your family, WE were your family, can't I kiss my only son goodnight?" argued Off. "Isn't Phuwin your son too?" asked Mix pouting."He is my grandson, we thought to never marry you to anyone and make Phuwin your heir, but before that, the old man right there, planted his seed of hatred," revealed Off. "Then why didn't you clear the misunderstanding?" asked Mix fazed by the reveal. "Haven't you understood the curse of misunderstanding between the generations yet? Why do you think I loath my father, you loath me and your son loaths you?" explained Off. "Sea loves me, okay! It's just that I can be overbearing but he hasn't ever gone against my wishes," defended Mix. "Think what you may, I am very tired, goodnight," said Off and pulled the blanket over his head. "Giving my son stress in the middle of the night! Sleep my child, should I sing you a lullaby?" asked Gun. "Papa!" said Mix embarrassed. "What is feel shy about it? You are the youngest here. Allow me to spoil you. Right, Papi? asked Gun his husband. "Should I switch on the baby light? In case you cannot sleep?" asked Off genuinely concerned. "Father! Stop babying me y'all," said Mix and covered his face with a pillow. Mr Chai's coughed loudly and the family at once slept.
