The first light of morning streamed through the heavy curtains of the dining hall, casting a soft glow on the polished wooden table set for breakfast. Jongho, Yunho, and San gathered around the table, each taking their place with practiced ease. The aroma of freshly baked bread and roasted meat filled the room, mingling with the sound of clinking cutlery and murmured conversation.

Mr. Choi, their father, sat at the head of the table, his expression as stern and commanding as ever.

As they began to eat, Mr. Choi cleared his throat, drawing the brothers' attention.

“Before we get into today’s matters.” Mr. Choi said, his voice carrying the weight of authority, “I want to address about the prisoner—the one we have kept in the dark room.”

Jongho was a but took aback because his dad suddenly wanted to talk about Yeosang. He might have any torture plans again.

Yunho raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued.
“Oh, really? You mean the ‘mysterious stranger’ who’s been getting special treatment?”

Mr. Choi’s gaze sharpened slightly, though his tone remained even.
“Yes, Yunho. I’ve decided that Yeosang will be treated with a degree of respect, as befits a member of the Demetris family. He has shown himself to be resilient, and there is potential for him to contribute to our operations.”

Jongho's mouth widened... His dad will respect Yeosang!? He watched as Mr. Choi looked with a soft smile and understanding eyes at him. Why so suddenly? He saw the interaction between them two?

San glanced up from his plate, his expression serious.
“You think he’ll fit in with the family? After everything that’s happened?”

Mr. Choi nodded, his demeanor relaxed but authoritative. “Indeed. He’s proven to have a strong spirit, and I believe he can be an asset. We will integrate him into our ranks and provide him with the proper training.”

Yunho snorted softly, shaking his head. “So, you’re saying we’re upgrading him from ‘tortured prisoner’ to ‘potential ally’? Interesting choice.”

San shot Yunho a look of disapproval. “Yunho, it’s not a matter of choice. If Father believes in this course of action, then it’s our duty to support it.”

Mr. Choi’s gaze swept over his sons. “San is right. Yeosang will be given a chance to prove himself. We must treat him as we would any other member of our organization.”

Jongho sat in silence, his mind racing with the remnants of the dream from the night before. The knowledge that Yeosang would be treated well—given a chance to integrate into their world—filled him with an unexpected joy. It was as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, and the dream’s revelations now seemed to align with this new development.

He glanced at one of the empty chairs, imagining Yeosan sitting there, a part of their world in a way that seemed both right and promising. Jongho felt a rush of happiness but kept his emotions in check, maintaining his usual composure.

Yunho, ever the skeptic, leaned back in his chair. “So, what’s next on the agenda? Will Yeosang get a grand tour of the castle, or do we jump straight into the training?”

Mr. Choi gave Yunho a slight smile, though it was devoid of humor. “There will be a period of acclimatization. Yeosang will need to adjust to our way of life, and we will provide him with the necessary resources. His training will begin soon, but for now, we will focus on integrating him into the household.”
