The midday sun was very hot in the middle of a summer day. This year, in particular, the middle of July was especially hot in Magix. Newly arrived students were crowded at the gates, and older ones broke up into groups of friends or acquaintances.

Miss Griselda checked the admission lists with her usual rigor and did not let any girl go further if her name was not on the list. Although this rarely happened, Elysia always doubted how many misfortunes could occur due to the oversight of the committee.

It became a little easier for her.
