Chapter 1: Talking in the Rain

After taking a short walk around Inaba, you then sat down under a structure as it began to rain.

"Well, this is just perfect."

"You could say that again."

You turned around to see Yukiko Amagi next to yourself.

"Oh, Ms. Amagi. A pleasure to see you again."

Yukiko: "Pleasure's all mine. Thanks again for the lift to my family's inn."

"It was nothing. Want to sit next to me? I'll scoot over."

Yukiko: "Sure."

Having made some room for Yukiko, you kept on looking at the rain, and you saw that Yukiko has an umbrella.

"You heading somewhere?"

Yukiko: "Yeah. This time I decided to walk to Amagi Inn. I was just a little tired that day you picked me up."

"I got it. So, how long have you lived in Inaba? I know the news says that Amagi Inn has been here for generations, but have you ever been to other places? Like that huge city you see on the horizon?"

Yukiko: "No. I wish, but sadly no. I've lived here in Inaba my whole life. I have a lot of responsibilities to tend to the Inn. A lot of people say it's what's keeping Inaba afloat and I'm afraid they're not too far off. Especially since a Junes came to town."

"Well, I've never been anywhere either. Just the suburbs of Haven."

Yukiko: "I think I've heard about that place. What's it like?"

"Just as a few more buildings than Inaba, but nothing special. The most interesting thing we have is an arcade that's been around for a while."

Yukiko: "So we both lived in places that aren't as interesting as the city?"

"I wish I could go to other places. A lot of people would be fine staying where they are, but I would like to see what's outside my town."

Yukiko: "Like talking to another me."

"Tell ya what: If you ever get a chance to get some time away from your responsibilities, maybe I might take you on a trip to the city."

Yukiko: "Really?"

"Don't worry, I'm not a thief that gonna steal you away. I'll bring you back after a little sightseeing."

Yukiko: "I know. Well, I better head back to the inn. Nice to talk to you again, Y/N."

"Same. Stay safe."

Yukiko: "You too."

As Yukiko walked away, you looked at the city in the distance.
