The parents seem to have forgotten that their kid came out as a therian, and life goes back to normal- except that the main character feels trapped. Yes, the wild was harsh and hard to live in, but they were free to be who they wanted to be.

They escape again, and after a worried and hectic search the main character finds the theriotype(s) that helped them, and they live happily ever after.

Prologue

The shrill sound of an alarm clock pierced through the silence, followed by a muffled curse and the thud of a hand hitting its snooze button.

She had messy dyed teal and bleached blonde hair- Messy due to her just waking up.

She rubbed her eyes as she took in her messy bedroom. Sunlight filtered through the window, casting a warm glow on her green emerald eyes.

She threw off her white sweatpants and purple band tee - her usual choice for pajamas - and stretched her arms overhead.

After grabbing a random outfit from her overflowing closet, she let out a sigh of relief.

She had managed to convince her parents that she was too sick for school today and could stay home.

As she made her way to the kitchen for breakfast, she couldn't help but feel excited for the day ahead, filled with endless possibilities and adventures waiting to be had.

Sage quickly threw on her MCR T-shirt and ripped jeans, adding a pop of color with red tights and platforms. She topped it off with a black beanie and her signature coyote tail, adorned with a keychain.

Her plan was to escape to her secret territory, where she could fully embrace her true identity as a Therian.

As she tucked her tail into her pocket, she couldn't help but feel conflicted about hiding such an important part of herself from her family.

With a quick swipe of eyeliner and lipstick, she headed downstairs for breakfast.

But as soon as she entered the kitchen, her father's disapproving gaze fell upon her. "What's on your face? And what's in your pocket?" he asked, causing Sage to bristle with frustration. "Can't you just love me for who I am?" she retorted, knowing that wouldn't be enough for her parents.

"God made us humans for a reason," her mother chimed in, while her father added, "Your mother's right."

Sage couldn't hold back her tears any longer as she cried out, "Really, guys? Why bring God into this? Can't you see how wrong it is to reject someone based on their true identity? You hide this from us. Is Spades really the bad influence here? Their the only one who truly understands me. God wouldn't want to see this."

Despite their hurtful words, Sage knew deep down that her parents simply couldn't understand or accept her Therian identity.

It was something she had known since she was 8 years old and discovered that her theriotype was a coyote, she always trotted and jumped before she could walk or crawl.
