It was cold, deathly cold, she couldn't breath- how could she? She was dying. With each intake of air her lungs felt icy, no matter what he did he couldn't make her feel warm anymore. She laid there deathly still just staring at the ceiling, the harsh winds outside drowning out her breaths and his sobs.

He wanted to save her, he wanted her to live. She wanted to live too but if living meant seeing him in tears like this then she was ready to die.

"You're crying again," she croaks out. His bloodshot eyes shot up to hers. His cheeks were soaked with fresh tears and his lips were trembling like a baby. He wanted to cry out for her sake, he wanted to save her but he couldn't.

"You can't leave me like this," he weeps, rushing to her side, kneeling and looking at her the same way he did when they first met.

They had just ran away together to live with each other, happily in love and married for 5 months and now one of them was going to die and leave the other
heartbroken, empty and alone. If she could, she wanted to be with him forever, she wanted them to grow old together but wish was nothing right now.

She hurriedly blinks away her tears and takes a deep breath and slowly raises her hands to flicker at the hair covering his face. She loved him more than anything else in this world and wanted nothing more than for him to be happy.

"It's okay my love. I know it's hard but please don't cry for me like this." She whispers gulping and clearing her throat. Her cracked lips were pale and the color of her youth was gone. To him she looked dead, even though she was still speaking to him right now he couldn't unsee a dead corpse in front of him. He hated this sight and he hated seeing her like this.

He couldn't take it anymore and stormed out despite her calling him to come back.

"There has to be a way," he cried running through the forest that wasn't too far from their small home.

He needed an answer, one to save his beloved wife. She was young. He was young. They barely had a life together, sure the memories were there but he didn't want to let her go, not yet. He wanted them to grow old first, have kids and live a life with no regrets. He was having those regrets.

"This is all my fault," he begins to think. He stumbled and fell, bursting his lips and tearing his clothes but that pain was nothing compared to hers. She was in so much and he could see it in her eyes. The bravery, the fear and the love, he could see it all. He wanted to take away all her fears, take away everything that bothered her in life, he made vows to always be by her side yet, here he was, face planted in the ground being pathetic.

He laid there with hands fisting up the dirt, angry at every and anything. This world was cruel and his beloved had to be the one to face it. He wanted to take her pain and bear it alone.

"Please someone save her! I'll do anything just please let her live!" He begged the trees, he pleaded the wind to carry his cries across the world to someone who could help him.
