A few days had passed blessed with tons of unnecessary laughter, silly ginger jokes, hours of girl gossip and endless unforgettable moments with the golden quartet.
The clock nearby read 6:21am and the whole house was practically up much earlier than usual but not by mere coincidence.
Today was August 11th, Siruis's 37th birthday and everyone was busy preparing for the big day.
I myself stuck up the homemade paper chains which me, Hermione and Ginny had worked on last night, whilst flying birthday banners and balloons wizzed around me.
I quickly moved onto placing everyone's presents on top of the neatly decorated dinner table which somehow ended with Ron knocking over my carefully stacked "birthday present tower" and Mrs Weasley scolding him as she fixed up the mess.
Me and Ginny couldn't help but laugh at him behind his mother's back as we took a quick break on the quite crooked yet comfortable sofa.
Ginny let out a large sigh and quickly starting to ramble about how lazy the boys were.
"Honestly they just sit there and expect the house to decorate itself, bloody idiots."
I gave her an agreeing nod as she continued her little rant.
"Look at Ron acting as if being told to put cupcakes on the table is forced child labour" Ginny said loudly earning a glare from her older brother.
"Atleast your other brothers have bothered to help, much to hard for precious ronald to handle."
I said with a large grin as Ron threw a cupcake wrapper right at my forehead, making the two of us burst out in chuckles with Hermione joining.A few more seconds were filled with silence and dying out laughter until the redhead continued.
"Well, it's good for us that your boyfriend is actually putting in an effort." Ginny muttered in a low whisper trying very obviously to hide her smirk.
My heard turned quickly at the mention of "boyfriend" and by instinct my eyebrows furrowed as my smile turned into a strict look, making Ginny let out an airy laugh.
Boyfriend? Harry Potter being my boyfriend was just- just a mere dream. A dream that would not come true even if i desperately wanted it to. He's a friend. Nothing more.
My thoughts repeated themselves as they remined me of what we were once again.
"Harry. Is. Not. My. Boyfriend!" I replied in a hushed tone as I made direct eye contact with Ginny.
Although my heart wanted to say something else, I needed to accept reality and unfortunately this is what it was.
Ginny returned my eye contact and swifty said with a unusually joyful look.
"Ahh, never said that I was talking about Harry did I?"My lips slightly parted as I realised what I had said.
"Oh, don't you start with that, you obviously meant him." I clapped back
"Hm, sure I did" Ginny replied with a quick wink as she jumped up from the sofa and walked off into the hallways.
I let out a small smile at her foolishness but moved onto sorting out the dessert plater.
As I placed the remaining brownies I couldn't help but notice a familiar scarhead.
He was putting up a large photograph of Siruis, the words " Happy 37th Birthday Padfoot " plastered across it with the help of Ron.
They both laughed at the picture but my entire focus was on the boy stood on the right.
The way strands of his raven hair were carefully arranged across his forehead as if someone had hand picked them out, yet the memorable scar still shone through. The way his muscles tensed and relaxed as he held out the picture, a promise of his strength and grace. The way his captivating eyes and enchanting smile held mine in a trance. The way his chiseled jaw stood out to the crowd, his cheeks caressed with a hint of pink.I had noticed a small dimple that graced his soft skin. Had there always been a dimple or was it a product of my lingering fascination.
