ALEX'S REDEMPTION

Chapter 1-Maxine

I went on dinner date with my boyfriend Kol to a restaurant that had the most beautiful beachside view when I got delivered a bouquet of flowers and a letter after Kol excused himself.I opened it up and it simply read
"Meet me outside,a suprise cupcake".I stood and went to look for Kol,outside i saw a bunch of our friends and met Kol kneeling in front of a "MARRY ME" sign with a glittering diamond ring...
"Maxine,from the moment we met i knew you were the one for me.I love you to the moon and back,will you marry me and make me complete"Kol popped
I screamed because it so unbelieveable"YESSSSSSS!!!,I'll marry you kol".I kissed him as he slipped the ring into my my ring finger
"I love you"Kol said holding me close and i hugged him
He took me home and i shared the news with everyone i knew.If mommy was here,i know she'd be very happy.I took a shower,went about my usual routine and made a little midnight snack before calling it a night.The next day at work,i met with Beatrice for lunch to discuss wedding plans because she was the only i had that was close to a sister and she gladly helped out.I met up with Kol to ask his consent for some things and he suggested i take a month leave from work to concentrate on the wedding as had few things already planned out.The wedding was to take place in italy so Kol allowed his sister staying there to get most things ready which made preparations faster.
"Don't you both think you're rushing things"Beatrice asked
I raised an eyebrow to that question"Why would you ask that B"I asked
"Not that i mean any harm but you should just take your time and prepare besides he's not leaving you for someone else"She replied
"You're right but this is where we wanna be afterall i've known Kol for over a year and i don't see anything wrong with getting married within a month"I said and dismissed the topic.

Invitations were sent,a venue was prepared and because we didn't want much people only few friends and family were called.My life was finally coming together and i could start a family of my own like mom always wanted me to.Two weeks to the supposed wedding date Kol and I left for Italy with our friends that were to help us out and to my suprise the wedding approached faster than anything.Finally i was starting a new life with my dream job of an architect and i couldn't be more grateful.I looked at the wedding and couldn't help but shed tears
"I know you wish your mom was here but i know she's happy seeing her beautiful daughter grow up"Beatrice said from behind me
I quickly wipped away the tears and smiled because she was right through and through
"Come on,get dressed.You will walk down the isle very soon"Beatrice reminded
Before she assisted with the dress the make-up touched up my make-up and i was finally ready.
When i was done,i set out of my room to go look for Beatrice and when i got into her room, i saw clothes everywhere,i didn't really think much of it considering Beatrice had a wildlife;she'd fuck anybody so long as it satisfied her so i thought it must be  one of the grooms men but to the my greatest suprise Beatrice was clearly fucking my soon-to be husband and she seemed so happy doing it
"Beatrice!how could you"I asked out of disappointment.That instant my life and dreams shattered like broken glass.
"He clearly needed some hole to fuck since you were "preserving" yourself till after marriage"Beatrice stated
"Well then you deserve eachother"I blurted out and turned to leave
"Maxine,wait let me explain...it's not what you thin.....
Before Kol could even explain i ran out of the hotel,the tears flowed out freely and there was stopping it.I was devasted,heartbroken and saddened and all i wanted at that moment was for the ground to open up and swallow me whole when i heard Kol calling for me.
"Max hold on"Kol shouted as he finally got a hold of me
"Let me go you filth"I said and dragged my hands away from his grip and backed away
"It's not what you...
"Not what i think,i fucking saw you with my bestfriend.No wonder both of you were so close and i foolishly thought it was casual friendship"I said
"I'm sorry"He said
"Your apology won't caught it,just let me be...forget we once knew eachother"I said and walked away as fast as i could
Subconsciously,I walked into the street and blacked out few seconds after i got hit.Hours later i woke up to the most handsome face staring at me,i looked around and the place felt different .At that moment all i could wish for was for the ground to open up and swallow me but my thoughts were interrupted
"Good,you're awake"He said as he signalled for the doctor
"Where are am I"I asked as i sat up
"Hospital"He plainly replied and went back to his laptop
"Excuse me but for how long?I want to leave"I said
"Say's the runaway who doesn't even know her way round"He said
At his words i broke down again in tears"Just take me away from here....Please I beg you"
"Good,let's go but first change.I don't need anyone questioning me"He blurted
I pushed aside his comment,changed and followed him out.We got into his car and were driven to a huge villa,Italy is indeed a beautiful country
"Theresa please show our guest here to a room"He said
"Yes ofcourse"Theresa nodded and escorted me
Damn the place was huge and really beautiful.Upstairs,I was showed into a room and shown around before she set to leave
"Rest my dear,when dinner is ready i'll call you down"Theresa said
I smiled"Thanks aunty"I said
"Call me Theresa my dear.We can get to know eachother later,it's been years since a woman first came in here"She said and left
"Mister,I didn't get your name"I said the minute i caught a glimpse of him
"It's Alex"He finally said
"I'm Maxine,Maxine Howard"I introduced
"Alright miss Howard,get some rest"Alex said and
I was called down for dinner and I ate although i didn't feel quite like myself,I was supposed to be married to someone i thought loved me for "ME" but that wasn't the case and for now atleast i know i'm no where near them,thanks to Alex
"I'm not usually invasive but mind sharing what happened to you"Alex asked as Theresa cleared the plates
"Let me help you with"I said as i stood but she insisted
"Don't worry dear,you are the guest"Theresa said signalling I sat then she left.
"Ok,she is too good"I said with a smile
"So wanna share what happened to you"He asked
At first i reasoned that i might think less of it if i shared but then i felt a flush of embrassment all over.
"It's ok if you don't want to,i won't force you"He said
"No,it's fine...Actually,i was to get married today but i found my fiancè cheating on me with my bestie,couldn't hurt more could it"I asked and chuckled
"I'm sorry about that,must have caused the emotional trauma"Alex said
I quickly wiped the tears that were looking for a way out and laughed it all out.
"I could help you get your stuff just give me the name of the hotel and your room number"He said
"Thanks Alex.Hotel Gardenia,room 305"I said as i wrote down on a piece of paper and handed it to him
"Your stuff will arrive tommorow morning"He said and hung up.
"Thanks again,goodnight"I said
I've only known Alex for a few hours but i can already tell his cold and not really a talker but who are my to judge,i just met him.
