Heyy lovelies
Here's chapter - 3
Enjoy reading 🥰The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the quiet street where Kabir and Rhea walked. It wasn’t their first time walking home together, but tonight felt different. There was an electric charge in the air, something unspoken yet undeniable.
Kabir, usually the life of the conversation, found himself unusually quiet, stealing glances at Rhea out of the corner of his eye. She was talking about something—probably school, or one of her recent pranks on Meera—but he wasn’t really listening. All he could focus on was the way her hair fell over her shoulder, the way her eyes sparkled when she smiled, and the way she occasionally looked up at him, as if waiting for him to say something.
“Earth to Kabir,” Rhea’s voice snapped him out of his thoughts. She was waving a hand in front of his face, laughing. “Kahaan kho gaye ho?”
Kabir blinked, feeling his cheeks heat up. “Kahin nahi, bas... soch raha tha ke tumhara koi badla toh baaki nahi hai, right? Kyunki tumhare pranks kaafi dangerous hote hain.”
Rhea raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced by his attempt at deflection. “Achha? Tum ab mujhse darne lage ho?”
Kabir chuckled, shaking his head. “Main kisi se nahi darta. Bas... tumhara mood samajh raha tha.”
Rhea stopped walking, turning to face him with a teasing smile. “Tumhe lagta hai main mood swings karti hoon?”
Kabir raised his hands in surrender, trying not to laugh. “Nahi, meri maharani. Bilkul nahi.”
She rolled her eyes, but there was a playful glint in them. “Kabir, tum seriously ajeeb ho jaate ho jab tum overthink karte ho.”
“Main overthink nahi kar raha,” he protested, though the grin on his face betrayed him. “Main bas yeh keh raha hoon ke tum aur main... we’re cool, right?”
Rhea tilted her head, studying him for a moment. “Haan, hum cool hain. Par kyun? Tumhe lagta hai hum cool nahi hain?”
Kabir hesitated, trying to find the right words. “Nahi, aisa kuch nahi hai. Bas... I was thinking, maybe we should go out again? You know, like last time.”
Rhea’s eyes lit up, but she quickly masked it with a smirk. “Oh? Aur yeh tumhe abhi kyun yaad aaya?”
Kabir shrugged, playing it cool. “Socha tum busy rahogi, isliye...”
Rhea laughed, shaking her head. “Kabir, tum seriously zyada sochte ho. Main kabhi bhi busy ho sakti hoon, par tumhare liye time toh nikal hi sakti hoon.”
Kabir’s heart did a little flip at her words, but he tried to play it off with a casual nod. “Toh phir, kal?”
Rhea smiled, the kind of smile that made Kabir feel like he’d just won something. “Kal. Lekin is baar tum plan karoge. Deal?”
“Deal,” Kabir agreed, feeling a strange mix of excitement and nerves.
As they reached Rhea’s house, she turned to him with that same teasing smile. “Goodnight, Kabir. And don’t overthink the plan, okay?”
Kabir laughed, shaking his head. “Promise. Goodnight, Rhea.”
He watched as she disappeared inside, then turned to head home, a smile still lingering on his face. But as he walked, his mind was already racing with ideas for their next outing. Something fun, something that would make her laugh... something that might even bring them closer.
