In the hidden village of Knothole, a blue hedgehog is sleeping in his bed. He begins to move around and falls onto the ground. He wakes up and prepares himself for something.
Sonic: Bring it, Buttnik! I'm not going down without a fight.
Sonic looks around and sees only his room and nothing else.
Sonic: Oh, a bad dream.
He goes to the mirror in his room and checks himself out.

Sonic: Not too bad if I say so myself.
Sonic does a few poses before going into a dresser and pulling out a pouch before putting it in a bag he wears on his waist. He then runs out of his room and through Knothole village. Passes by many citizens and those he hangs out with.
Sonic then makes his way to Knothole HQ. He enters it and sees the leader of the Freedom Fighters and his childhood friend, Sally Acorn

Sonic: Hi Sally.
Sally: Hi Sonic. You're up early. That's a first for you.
Sonic: Kinda fell out of my bed and woke up. Didn't want to go back to sleep, so I decided to head here. Any news from Uncle Chuck about what Buttnik's been planning?
Sally: Yes. I was kinda hoping I'd break it to everyone tonight. It's more dangerous than anything before.
Sonic: Well, tell me now and maybe you'll feel a little less hestiant to break the news to everyone else.
Sally sighs and pulls out her portable computer and digital assistant, Nicole.
Sally: Nicole, pull up schematics for the device Chuck sent us.
Nicole: Roger Sally.
Nicole pulls up a holographic image of a large device. that seems to encompass a city.
Sonic: I'm guessing that's some kind of doomsday machine?
Sally: Yep. It uses the same technology as the roboticizer.
