The day of the Cherry Blossom Festival dawned bright and clear, with a gentle breeze carrying the scent of spring across Coral Island. The village was buzzing with excitement, and preparations for the festival were in full swing. Pink petals floated through the air, decorating the paths and streets as the islanders eagerly awaited the event.
At the farmhouse, Isabel was finishing up her morning chores when she heard a familiar knock at the door. Opening it, she found Surya standing there, a shy smile on his face.
"Good morning, Isabel," Surya greeted, holding a small bundle wrapped in cloth. "I wanted to tell you about the Cherry Blossom Festival today. It's a big event here, and I thought you might want to go. There's a potluck, games, music... It's a lot of fun."
Isabel smiled, her eyes brightening with interest. "That sounds wonderful! I've heard some of the villagers talking about it, but I wasn't sure what to expect."
Surya nodded enthusiastically. "It's a great way to meet everyone and celebrate the season. Plus, there's a special potluck soup that everyone contributes to. I thought... maybe you could bring some fresh salmon to flavor it? Judge Ross and Mayor Connor usually decide whose contribution stands out, and I'm sure they'd be impressed with that."
Isabel considered his suggestion, her expression thoughtful. "That's a great idea, Surya. I've got some fresh salmon that I can use. I'll be sure to add it to the soup."
Surya's smile widened, pleased that she liked the idea. He hesitated for a moment, then rubbed the back of his neck, clearly working up the courage to say something more. "Um, Isabel... I was wondering... would you like to go to the festival together? I mean, we'll meet everyone there, of course, but it might be fun to walk around together."
Isabel's heart warmed at the invitation. She found herself smiling back at Surya, feeling a little shy herself. "I'd love to, Surya. It sounds like it'll be a great time."
"Great!" Surya said, his relief evident. "I'll swing by later to pick you up."

As promised, Surya returned later that afternoon, and together they walked to the festival grounds. The entire island had transformed into a sea of cherry blossoms, with stalls selling food, crafts, and various games set up around the central square. Islanders were mingling, laughing, and enjoying the festivities.
As they entered the festival, they were greeted by familiar faces. Theo and Luke waved them over to a fishing game, while Eva and Sam were busy at a stall, offering baked goods to festival-goers. Millie and Scott were discussing the history of the festival near the museum's display booth, and Lily, Nina, Dippa, and Emma were decorating baskets with petals.
"Isabel! Surya!" Theo called out, grinning. "Come try your hand at the fishing game! Let's see if you can beat my high score."
Isabel laughed as they approached. "I'm not much of a fisher, but I'll give it a shot!"
They spent time enjoying the games, with Surya offering tips and cheering Isabel on as she tried her best. She even participated in a flower-arranging contest with Lily and Emma, where the competition was friendly and full of laughter.

As the day went on, they moved to a stall hosting a ring toss game, where Isabel found herself competing against Charles. To her surprise, Charles was visibly flustered, dropping the rings and missing nearly every throw. Isabel, on the other hand, managed to land her rings with ease, giggling as Charles grew redder by the minute.
"Charles, you're really not on your game today," Isabel teased gently as she landed her final ring.
Charles managed a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, I guess I'm a bit... distracted."
