Hermione POV

The end of classes was approaching, weeks later. My feelings for Ron had changed. Completely. I was starting to accept it in my mind. There were days when we fought like siblings, but soon after we reconciled, and it seemed like every little argument and discussion brought us closer and made us more intimate. That was our way of being.

I was really missing my parents, but with Voldemort back, it was very dangerous. All the Death Eaters knew I had been at the Ministry, and my parents had been sending me letters these weeks. They already knew about everything, but from the start, I had warned them that if anything happened, I would be actively involved.

We were in the Great Hall a few hours before we went back to London. It was me, Harry, Ginny, and Ron. The last weeks of classes had been calm. All the students still seemed to be watching us, and the comments and gossip only increased.

— I love Hogwarts, but I can't stand these blatant people anymore — Ron said — They stare and don't even try to hide it!

— It's nice, I think. — Ginny said, and we looked at her strangely. — Come on! We look famous!

— I don't think so, I don't know how Harry puts up with it every day. — Ron replied.

— It's difficult — Harry said. — Not that I'm famous... — Harry was about to continue but was interrupted by Ron.

— Oh, shut up, you are famous.

— What's up, Mione? You're quiet — Ginny asked me.

— I'm just thinking about how everything will change from now on. I'm nervous to see how Diagon Alley is. Did you see that all the shops are closing? — I said.

— I read about that too. — Harry said.

— It's a shame to think we won't live our last years, right? — Ginny said.

— Live? — Ron asked, startled. — Do you think we're going to die?

— Of course not! I'm talking about living, like... living! Like normal people, you know? — She replied.

— I think we'll still have a few normal months. I don't think You-Know-Who will attack anyone while there are so many Aurors around. — Ron said. — I think he'll turn the whole Ministry to his side. Until he can act in front of them.

— I doubt it, unless it's with the Imperius Curse, right? — Ginny said.

— As if he's never used it before! Of course, it will be with that! But it's something we can't avoid, right? — Ron concluded.

We finished our conversation and headed to the Express, which was already waiting for us. The journey back to London was smooth, as always; we slept, with Ginny leaning against me and Ron and Harry in front of us. We woke up at dusk, arriving in London. We got off and found Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. We chatted for a few moments and said goodbye to Harry, as his aunt and uncle were waiting for him outside the station.

After a while, it was time to say goodbye to the Weasleys. I said goodbye to Mr. Weasley, and Ginny came right after.

— Goodbye, Mione! — Ginny said and hugged me. — I'm going to miss you.

I approached Ron.

— Goodbye, Ron — I said, and he smiled and hugged me. It was different, but brief since his family was around us.

— Will you come to see us? — He asked, looking at me.

— I don't know yet, you know how my parents are.

— I can send a letter if you want! They love me! Right? — He said, and I laughed.

— We'll see, Ron. Write to me, please! — I said.

— Of course, I will. — He replied.

— I have to go now, take care. — I concluded, smiled, and headed towards the passage to King's Cross station.
