Ron's POV

I had just regained my consciousness after the spell that hit me. I was still bleeding heavily from the brains that attacked me, my arm was practically skinned in a wavy pattern, and my neck was bleeding. We were in a room with various stones in the Department of Mysteries. Hermione was unconscious from a spell cast on her, but I was aware that she would wake up, and it wouldn't be long.

Then Dolohov found us. Ginny had a broken ankle.

— Were you hiding here? — He asked, sneering, and as soon as Ginny and I got to our feet, Dolohov cast a killing curse at my sister, but missed.

— Stupefy! — I shouted, and the three of us started battling. The only sounds were spells firing until, in a split second, I saw Hermione levitating at the top of the room, which must have been about 4 meters high.

— One more move and I'll throw her down from up here. — Dolohov said again with his wand pointed at Mione, who was unconscious.

— You wouldn't dare. — Ginny said.

— Want to see? — Dolohov then used his wand to throw Mione's body against the stone wall, making her fall 4 meters to the ground.

At that moment, I didn't think of anything else. There was no Dolohov, no Ginny, no Department of Mysteries. A million things flashed through my mind; I could only run towards her and hear a "Petrificus Totalus! Ron! I got him!"

— Mione!!! Mione, please respond! GINNY! HELP ME — I was desperate.

I knelt beside Hermione's limp body, trying to control my breathing, but my heart was racing. Each second felt like an eternity. Ginny ran to my side, her face pale and full of worry.

— Is she alive? — Ginny asked, her voice trembling.

I leaned over Hermione, trying to hear her breathing. There was a moment of relief when I realized she was still breathing, albeit weakly and irregularly.

— Yes, but we need to get out of here. — I replied, my voice choked with desperation.

I looked around, searching for an exit or some kind of help. Dolohov was petrified, thanks to Ginny's spell, but we didn't have much time before he recovered or other Death Eaters found us.

— Ron, you-know-who is outside. Dumbledore is also here.

— Dumbledore? How did he know?

— I don't know — Ginny replied. — Someone has to go help Harry.

— No Ginny, you're not going... — Ginny interrupted me and said. — I am going — She said, already standing up.

— Come back here! GINNY COME BACK! — I shouted, but she was already near the door, so she shouted back.

— Take care of her! If Harry dies, I'll blame myself forever Ron! I'll be back quickly, I promise.

Before I could respond, she ran through the door, leaving me alone with Hermione. Carefully, I supported Hermione in my lap; she was bleeding from her face. I wiped the blood from her face. Ah... I hated seeing her in that state. If only I could do something. I looked at her for a few minutes, caressing her hair and her hands; I didn't know what I was feeling at that moment about her. My best friend, my Hermione. So strong and so brave. I wanted so much to be able to do something. I was stroking her arm when I felt it move.

— Mione, please respond — I whispered, hoping she would wake up.

Hermione's eyes fluttered, trying to focus on me. She looked at me with an expression of pain and confusion. She soon sat up. It was a relief to see her like that.

— Hey! Take it easy. — I said while helping her sit up.

— Ron... your arm... — she said, her voice weak.

I looked at my arm, still bleeding and covered with wavy marks. The pain was immense, but at that moment, all that mattered was that Hermione was alive and awake.

— Don't worry about that right now, Mione. We need to get out of here. Ginny is outside. — I said.

— She's outside? Doing what? Wait. — She tried to focus her vision behind me. — Who is that Ron? — She asked, pointing to the petrified body of Dolohov on the floor.

— Dolohov, he's not dead, just petrified. Though we could kill him; it's his fault you're like this.

— Don't say that, Ronald. What did he do to me?

— Well, you were already unconscious, he found us and threw you from up there — I said, pointing to the ceiling.

— That's why my head hurts so much then. We need to get out of here Ron. — Hermione said, trying to get up, but her body wouldn't respond well. She groaned in pain, and I stood up and held her more firmly, but before I could get her to lean on me, she fainted again.

— Hermione! Hermione! Can you hear me? — I started to panic and laid her back on the ground; time seemed to stretch, each second an eternity. I looked at the door, hoping Ginny would return any moment. Mione, how could you leave me like this? After what seemed like an eternity, but I believe it was about 5 minutes, Ginny appeared at the door.

— Is she still unconscious? — Ginny ran to my side and knelt beside me.

— She woke up but tried to get up and fainted again.

— Voldemort disappeared, Disapparated. There must be about 20 Aurors outside; they'll take us through the Floo Network to St. Mungo's.

— Where is everyone? Where's Harry?

— He's fine; Dumbledore went back to Hogwarts. Come on, help me lift her.

Carefully, Ginny and I lifted Hermione, supporting her between us. We left the Department of Mysteries, walking as fast as we could given the circumstances.

The journey through the corridors seemed endless. When we finally reached the main hall, it was filled with Aurors. Ginny was right: there was intense activity with witches and wizards discussing.

— Here! — Ginny shouted, catching the attention of a group of Aurors who approached us quickly.

One of the Aurors, who seemed to be the leader, looked at us with concern.

— We need to get her to St. Mungo's immediately. — He said, examining Hermione with a clinical eye. — Through the Floo Network, get in. You both need to go with her.

— And the others? — I asked, my voice still laden with worry. — Where are they?

— Everyone is being taken to St. Mungo's or has already gone to Hogwarts. — The Auror replied as he guided us.

— Do you know where Harry is?

— He refused to go immediately to the Hospital; he went back to Hogwarts. He wasn't that injured.

— Ginny, Sirius.

— We'll talk about that later, Ronald — She replied as we entered the fireplace. The Auror handed me a handful of Floo Powder.

Then I clearly said:

— St. Mungo's Hospital!

In a matter of seconds, we were at the hospital, where a team of healers rushed to meet us. They took Hermione immediately.

— Can I go with her? — I shouted to a healer.

— No, young man, you need medical attention now. — said one of the healers, looking at my injured arm.

— I'm fine, just take care of her first — I insisted, but she shook her head.

— We need to take care of all of you. Come here.

So Ginny and I were taken to a quieter area of the Hospital. They treated my arm and wrapped it in several bandages. Ginny's foot was easy, and she could walk normally again.
