It was seven in the morning. Alex was bussing out breakfast plates when Jake came up front from his morning jog along the beach.
"Yo." Jake tried to catch his breath as he took off his sweaty ear plugs.
"Morning. Ayos na naman yung generator, noh? May nakalimutan pa ba tayo?" Alex looked worried as he put the dirtied utensils on the bamboo counter.
Jake took a seat on the stool. "Okay na yun bro. Huwag ka masyado magworry. May number naman ako ng mekaniko if ever magka-brownout."
"It's Randy dela Vega, Jake." Alex went behind the counter and started washing. "We can't afford to get a bad review. Isang taon pa lang tayo rito."
"Dude, relax. Breathe. He's just a blogger."
Alex took a deep breath. "Okay. 10 am ang Kalibo flight niya. That will take another three hours of land travel and transfers. So after lunch pa yun makakarating rito. Nakalayas na yung mga German by then."
"Puta, pati flight schedule niya alam mo?" Jake laughed as he stood up. "Beyond the scope na yan Alex. Shower muna ako."
Alex nodded and calculated as he wiped the counter.

Owen shifted his pillow, as a long-haired dark-skinned girl gently stroked his bare chest.
"Mmm." Owen grunted, still with his eyes closed.
"Gutom na ko. May breakfast ba kayo rito?" She whispered in a squeaky voice.
"Mmm. Pinakain na kita kagabi."
She giggled. "Alam ko. Pero di naman ako nabusog dun."
Owen took a deep breath and abruptly stood up, pulling the sheet with him. The girl dove to the floor, head first.
"Aray!" She screamed as she turned up to his muscular buttocks.
Owen smirked, turned, and bent towards her. "Naubusan na ko ng itlog eh."
He laughed and headed for the shower. "Mauna ka na, may trabaho pa ko dito sa resort."

It was eight in the morning. Owen put on a sando as he approached the counter.
"Sa wakas, gising ka na rin." Alex was stacking plates. "May fruits diyan. And fuck you raw, sabi ni islander girl number 452."
Owen laughed as he took a banana. "Hayaan mo na. Patay gutom eh."
"Gago. Mauubos mo na ata mga babae rito eh." Alex handed him an envelope. "Di pa bayad yung internet. Sobrang late na nito, nakita ko sa drawer mo. Baka maputulan tayo today. You know that Ran-"
"Randy dela Vega is coming." Owen interrupts. "I saw the reservation and credit card booking. I'll take care of this. Kakausapin ko rin naman si Liza mamaya eh. So pupunta talaga ako mainland, isabay ko na 'to."
"Liza our accountant? Wait. Bakit? Ano proble-" Alex got worried.
"It's just a mix up, don't worry. I'm an investment banker, Alex. I got this covered." He winked as he stood up and headed for the beach.
"You were an investment banker. Were, Owen." Alex said as Jake stepped out of the room and into the front open dining area.
"Anong you were an investment banker na yan ha. Reminiscing the past, guys?" Jake smiled as he opened the umbrellas of the dining area.
The old German couple walked up and approached Jake from the beach after a morning swim. "Good morning, Jake." The old lady patted his chiseled arm.
