The return of the past

It wasn't lost on the new found group with the two and their goo goo eyes for one another. tommy miller found it was like his birthday's and christmases all land in his lap . finally something he could finally be a part in ,something his big brother long deserved.  He wasn't only one who had noticed it  , the two walked side by side through town , sat with each other every friday night in tipsy bison and even sat together every meal time . when they weren't working together well you could find her at the millers house . not many things would be classed as fate  these days not when they world was in shambles but sunshine well she was definitely  fate for joel miller and tommy could see what ellie was talking about.  within weeks she was stable in their lives helping ellie with things joel didn't understand and helping joel understand said things . He was slowly catching on to things in his life that  would of went over his head or he would hide the smiles of the sound of both of them bursting into a fit of laughter . yeah tommy knew it was fate just needed joel to see it was too. 

she never went into the extent of what life was like before jackson and no one ever pushed on it not everyone here could say they had a clean state . all having to do thing once deemed bad just to survive but with the community it was like they could escape the wrong in the world  , the wrong doings of the past .  when she first arrived she was hesitant , very  in a matter of fact for first six months even first year she was waiting for the penny to drop for it turn out to be some sort of evil place but it wasn't . it was a taste or as close to a taste of normal life  something she only ever heard or could barely remember. another part of the dream wasn't being so alone , loneliness was a killer , not having someone to talk to  and just the solid comfort of yourself is nice from time to time but you end up yearning for company and well she ended up with a shitty ex , now in jackson she had friends people she cared for  and they cared for her without ulterior motives . hot water and food daily was also a bonus that was for sure but probably the recent shit would have to be her favourite it was almost like she been in the company of the miller for years and years but it was only few months , few weeks . 

standing he could tell she wasn't paying attention her eyes drifting like they always did , locked on his big brother like they always did . Tommy was talking away and she was  head up in the cloud gawking at his big brother . 

" so that ok with you ?" he chuckled as her brows furrowed in confusion . 

" huh sorry kinda space out there for a bit" she blink  hiding her face knowing she was definitely blushing. 

" course ya did , i was saying since well maria is close to giving birth  i don't wanna well be too far away so you go on next patrol with joel ?" he smirked as his brother walked over to them like he always did when she was talking to another man even if that other man was his brother. 

" oh course  just once you let doc know  and when is it?" she smiled brightly . 

" well my dear sunshine ya'll leave tomorrow bright and early " tommy got up patting her back . 

" that ok with you ? " she turned to joel smiling brighter but she alway did . 

" course it is darling , prefer you to tommy better company" he winked heading off maybe to get ready she thought. 

" you got bit of drool right there sunshine" tommy teased pointing to her chin making her face flash and playful slap sent his way . only make his laugh louder when she quickly wiped her chin.
