'At school the next day'

Astrid, Sophia's best friend, can sense that something is off with Sophia. She asks, "Hey, you okay? You seem a little out of it today."

Sophia is reluctant to talk because of her encounter last night, She tries to brush off Astrid's concern with a slight smile and says, "Yeah, I'm just tired. Had a bit of a restless night."

Astrid didn't fully believe Sophia's nonchalant response. She had known her friend for years, and she could tell when something was bothering her. She gave Sophia a slight nudge and teased, "Come on, I know you better than that. Something's up, spill it."

Sophia tried to maintain her composure but Astrid's persistent questions started to wear her down. She let out a small sigh and gave in, "Alright, fine. I... I need to talk to you about something. But you have to promise not to think I've gone crazy."

Astrid looked at Sophia with a concerned expression, "Okay... what is it?"

As Sophia was about to tell Astrid, something caught the corner of her eye. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw the demon standing a few feet behind Astrid, a faint smile on his face.

The demon had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and as he put his finger to his lips, he was signaling for her to remain quiet.

Astrid noticed the shift in Sophia's expression. "Sophia? What is it? What's going on?" she asked, a hint of confusion in her voice.

Sophia's eyes were fixed on the demon behind Astrid, filled with a mix of shock and fear. She couldn't utter a word, terrified that the demon might do something to Astrid.

Astrid grew more puzzled and a bit impatient as Sophia remained quiet. She turned around to see what her friend was staring at, only to see nothing.

Astrid looked back at Sophia, a slight frown on her face, "Sophia, what's got you so spooked? There's nothing behind me. You're acting strange."

Sophia was struggling to find her voice, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn’t believe the demon had actually followed her to school.

Sophia, still paralyzed with fear, tried her best to keep her trembling voice steady as she managed to speak, "It's... It’s nothing, Astrid. I must have been seeing things."

Sophia hastily walked away from Astrid, her steps quickening as she approached her classroom. Every nerve in her body was on edge, her heart racing, and her thoughts a whirlwind.

She silently cursed herself for not being able to explain the situation to Astrid, but what could she say? The fact that there was a demon standing behind Astrid, was both terrifying and unbelievable.

As Sophia settled into her chair in the classroom, her eyes darted around, constantly checking her surroundings. The feeling of being watched returned, and she couldn't shake the thought that the demon might show up again at any moment.

The teacher began to write on the whiteboard, introducing the day's lesson, but Sophia found it difficult to concentrate. Her mind was still preoccupied with the demon's visit to her home and now his ominous presence at school.

The class was ongoing, and the teacher continued lecturing. However, Sophia’s mind was elsewhere. She was constantly stealing glances around the room, half-expecting the demon to appear again.

A couple of times, she caught the eye of a few curious classmates who had noticed her nervous behavior. They gave her puzzled looks, wondering what had her so on edge.

The school bell rang, signaling the end of the day. Sophia packed her things quickly, ready to head home.

As she began walking home by herself, her footsteps echoed down the empty street. Despite the ordinary school day, the weight of her encounter with the demon still lingered in her mind.
