Another story I've been working on in my drafts. Please leave your thoughts!
Stepping out of the warm running water, I grabbed the white towel wrapping it round myself. Opening the door between my bathroom and my bedroom, cold air pinched at my skin and the water droplets make my cream carpet slightly damp. Slipping on some clean clothes, I sat before a mirror aplying my make up for the first day of my last year of school. Putting on natural coloured eye shadow, I stood up before putting on a thin line of eye liner and finishing my make up with one coat of mascara. Picking up the hair dryer, I let the warm air blow dry my long brown hair into its natural waves. Glancing in the mirror, I accepted that this had to do. My brown waved down passed my shoulders, my make up light and natural, a tight purple tee and some dark skinny jeans. On my way out of the house, I picked up my backpack and let it hang from one shoulder. Shutting the door, I turned to lock it, forgetting I had no keys in my hand.
"Damn" I muttered to myself before swinging the door open, running to grab my keys from the side table and running back out again. Looking at my phone, it indicated that I had at least 5 more minutes before I had to leave here if I didn't want to be late. Sighing with relief I locked the front door before sliding in to the drivers seat of my old blue beetle. The car wheezed a few times but started on the third go. That was pretty lucky. I had a feeling today was going to be good. From today we were the oldest students at the school, no-one to push their way in the line for food, no other students to take charge. Stopping at a roundabout, I gave way to my right, glancing in my rear mirror, my eyes did a double take. A man in the car behind me was not only in a black sleek sports car, he was very, very, handsome.
His hair was pushed back, a light brown colour, showing off his piercing blue eyes. Even through his slightly tinted front mirror I could even see his designer stubble, outlining his jaw. I jumped when I noticed the guy had beeped me. Tearing my eyes away from his gorgeous blue eyes, I saw a space in the round about where I could of gone. Waving my hand up, signalling to the handsome man behind I was sorry, I took the left, going my way to school. Some other cars followed me but I couldn't help looking out for the sleek black sports car going the same direction as I, a few cars back.
Another car horn made me jump again, snapping my attention to the road and not my mirrors, I noticed I had also cut off a familiar red fiesta. As almost like a instinct reaction I waved happily at my best friends angry face. His face softened when he noticed me and Chace waved back before pulling in front of me. Without any more mistakes on my part, we had arrived at school on time. I parked right behind Chace in the students car park of the school where he got out of his own car to open my door.
"Thank-you Chace." I smiled stepping out of the car, picking up my backpack at the same time. Chace jumped on me, losing all of his gentleman-ness. Hugging him back, he broke away before smiling at me.
"Lets go find Nicki, Nia." He said, his American accent clear. He started smiling at the similarities of mine and my other best friends name. "Nia and Nicki, Nicki and Nia. How come I've never noticed that before?" He began to laugh. The cold air was starting to bite at my once warm skin, so turning away from my American friend, I headed for the school. Chace did a little jog to keep up with me, before holding the door open and offering for me to go first. Smiling at him, I didn't try to say thank you over the noise of running round, hectic students of school. Stepping in, I greeted the warm air thankfully.
