Cecilia was reading a book about magic, sitting cross-legged on her bed, flipping through the pages thanks to her power with just small movements of the fingers, before being interrupted from one of Fei's crows. Her long brown hair fell to her shoulders and her face was full of freckles and the brightness of youth, while the tips of her fingers, now totally black consumed by her power (but still with nails painted with burgundy nail polish), were surrounded by a red mist. With a wave of her hand she pushed with telekinesis the bird away, causing him to slam into the door. "Go away!" She hissed, but the undaunted crow approached again, as if he wanted Cecilia to follow him. She floated out of bed and opened the door then went downstairs to her brothers and sisters, on the balcony in the living room. She looked down and saw six rather ambiguous strangers, Ben and Reginald Hargreeves.
From left to right there were: a short, pale boy with jet black hair, a large man with a strange coat and blond hair, a beautiful dark-skinned woman with a sixties style, a child in a school uniform, a tall, thin man with a goatee who wore a strange,but very stylish, hat and a tanned man who looked like just out of the asylum.
"Is that really you?" The biggest one asked Ben as if he had just seen a ghost. The boy glared at him confused. "And who are the weirdos on the balcony!?" The man who seemed like a madman almost screamed.
"They are the Sparrows," Reginald said almost as if he was proud "my children." Cecilia felt a slight jolt under her feet for a second, but she didn't pay attention to it too curious about who those guys were. "Excuse me, what do you mean your children?”Asked annoyed and confused the child, who from the way he behaved seemed like a middle-aged man. "It's not possible, old man."
"Of course it is! I think I would know, or not?" Reginald replies as Cecilia and her brothers descend the stairs and position themselves behind Ben. The man with the goatee and the strange hat greets the witch with a wave and a smile, to which she returns a small, surprised smile. "Everybody can see Ben, right?" He then asks, taking a step towards the boy, who looks at him quite disgusted. "You know them Ben?" Cecilia asks Ben through her mind, to which he responds by turning towards her and shaking his head.
"Cute hat, Sundance" He then says sarcastically, with a mocking smile. But the man takes it as a real compliment and he brings his hands to his heart like he was moved. Cecilia smiles secretly at this little scene.
"They call themselves 'The Umbrella Academy'" Reginald begins "a group of scheming perfidious malcontents who approached me in the fall of 1963 when i was away for business in Dallas. Be warned, they claim to be my spawn." The Sparrows look confused and shocked at the strangers in their living room as if they were crazy. Cecilia feels looked at carefully, and turns to meet the gaze of the man who had greeted her before, but before she could do anything the sixties woman interrupts her.
