My whip coils around the hand of a man, clad all in black. A black fox mask was hiding the face I knew since birth. "You made a mistake sister, now you die" The masked man says ominously.
"Get away from the ship, my crew Kanzi, and ill let you walk away" I reply coldly.
"Too late, sister," Kanzi sneers, his voice dripping with malice.
My heart sinks as I see two more masked figures approaching. I could have overpowered Kanzi alone, but with the other two backing him up, all I can do now is hold them off for a few minutes.
Robin needed immediate medical attention and I would never let anyone touch Nami. I did the only thing I could.
I ran, away from the ship, hoping the three of them would follow me instead. I heard Nami shouting my name as I leapt over the side of Sunny and headed towards the village. I prayed I wouldn't run into Luffy or, worse, Zoro—the resulting bloodshed would be impossible to undo.
But I couldn't just leave. I knew this might be the last time I saw Nami, her terrified face looking down at me. With tears in my eyes, I shouted, "Tell them not to follow."
The three behind me would have heard my words. I hated giving them that knowledge—that there was someone I still cared for. But I couldn't leave without saying at least that much.
I've always been the fastest of my clan and could easily outrun my attackers. I knew they would eventually corner me, but it was imperative to put as much distance between us and the ship.
"Stop, girl!" a deep voice reverberated through the air. "Stop, or we'll turn back to the ship and take care of the girl you were so desperate to save. Ill take my sweet time with her too." He says dangerously.
I come to a halt, still a safe distance away from them.
"You were always a sadistic asshole, Father," I taunt, hoping to keep their attention on me.
"And you were an easily manipulated emotional bitch, daughter," he retorts.
"How many times have I taught you to keep your emotions in check, silly girl?" The other masked member speaks. It's my mother.
I look coldly at my mother, not bothering to reply.
They are my family. I laugh at the term. I've lived with them, shared countless meals with them. Yet, I would have killed them in a heartbeat. They meant nothing to me.
They are here to capture me and take me back to Shika Island. I am to be executed there for my transgressions
Back Story
The Shika clan, once a peaceful and prosperous tribe, had transformed into a barbarous faction with ruthless rules. They became notorious for producing assassins who carried out orders from the Celestial Dragons, playing a pivotal role in toppling kingdoms and governments
The volcano, once a sacred site of reverence and worship, had become a place of punishment. Sinners were cast into its fiery depths to quench the volcanic God's thirst, hoping that such sacrifices would keep the volcano sated and prevent it from erupting.
The laws of our tribe were twisted but simple: follow the rules, or face the consequences. Those who broke even a single rule were cast into the volcanic pit.
There were five rules we all had to follow:
Obey orders from a Celestial Dragon to the letter.
Never fail in your task.
Never refuse any task assigned to you.
Do not harm a Celestial Dragon.
