'cause there's nothing like it
not like the way you move

i can try but i can't
hide it from youyou let out a sigh, resting your head in your hand as you stared out the car window. the sound of your parents and little sister conversing being muffled by the music coming from your headphones. you watched as the scenery of miyagi passed by. it was pretty, but nothing like tokyo.
you were used to seeing tall buildings and something new every where you looked, but here in the country side, it was quieter - there weren't as many tall buildings or bright lights, it was just...peaceful. maybe you liked that.

you awoke to the feeling of your sister obnoxiously, and rather roughly, tapping your shoulder. you lift your head from your hand to face her, cocking a brow. "..what?" you ask groggily, slipping your headphones down to your neck.
she pulled her hand away, moving to open the car door. "we're here!" she got out of the car, running to the trunk to get her bag. you groan, dreading the thought of having to get out of the car and actually do stuff. after a moment of sulking, you open your door as well, shutting it behind you and heading to grab your belongings too.
you walk inside, placing your bags near the front door and resting your hands on your hips. thankfully for you (and the rest of your family), the movers had already unloaded everything and brought it inside. now, all you guys had to do was decorate, unpack, and organize, which you were actually looking forward to.
your dad walked in behind you, resting a hand on your shoulder and firmly patting it. "well y/n," he begins, smiling down at you. "whaddaya think?"
you return your gaze to the room in front of you - your new home. after a moment, you smile softly, looking back at him. "I like it."
you see your dad's smile widen, nodding his head. "good. I bet you're wondering where your room is, huh?" he gestures towards the staircase to your right, releasing your shoulder. "go pick, if your sister hasn't already, that is." he chuckled, patting your back lightly again before walking ahead of you towards the living room, kneeling down next to a taped up box and calling for your mom.
you pick your bags back up before hauling them up the staircase. you saw a hallway leading both directions, two doors at each end and two on the wall in front of you. the one to the far left's door was open, revealing a bathroom, the one closest to you was presumably the laundry room. another door was open as well. your sister was inside, already unpacking her things onto her bed. that meant that the one on the far right was yours.
the walls surrounding you were blank, undecorated. a few days from now, they're probably going to be filled with various family photos and pictures, considering how many your mother had stored away.
you open your bedroom door, your eyes shifting around the white painted walls of your new room. your bed and other furniture was already set up and there were multiple cardboard boxes stacked in different piles around your room, labeled with your name.
"let's get to work." you mumble to yourself, tossing your bag onto your mattress. it was going to be a long day...
