-Epilogue-

A knock was heard outside his car, a sign it was time and he took a deep breath in. Slowly, he opened the door and got out. The soft platter of rain was heard from the umbrella over his head. He looked at his right hand and close friend, Yunho, who gave him an encouraging nod before handing over the umbrella to the alpha as he left to get to the car. Hongjoong now was standing alone in the rain. He stared up ahead.

His feet softly crunched under the crisp grass as he made his way to the one place where he could see his love. It wasn't far, and soon enough, he was standing in front of the freshly dug grave.

In a neat craving was the singer's name.

His fingers grazed over the headstone.

It had been a week since he died, but it still felt like at any moment, the omega would come and wrap his arms around him and tenderly kiss him. It still felt unreal to know that none of that would ever happen again.

He was gone.

Hongjoong tightly gripped his umbrella in his hand and, in the other, the bouquet of daisies that were the omega's favourite. He missed him so much, but he couldn't help but feel guilty at the same time. Seonghwa didn't blame him in his last moments, but he did.

It was entirely his fault.

No one else was to blame.

He placed the bouquet next to the others that had been left a couple of hours from the funeral. He had watched the ceremony from afar in his car. He had seen the singer's two best friends who looked miserable and broken from the loss of their close friend. It hurt even more as he had listened to their eulogies about him. The singer had really left a big gap in their hearts with his death. He swallowed hard. “I'm so sorry star…” He whispered into that air like the wind could carry his apology to his love, wherever he was and maybe it would.

He hadn't been expecting anyone else to come at this hour since the service had ended a couple of hours ago but now he was hearing faint steps edging towards him. He turned around, high on his guard ready to defend himself from whoever was coming for him but instead saw a lady he had never seen before. The woman didn't seem at all surprised to see him but he was. In fact, she seemed to have been waiting for him. “Mr. Kim?” Her soft voice called out to him.

He eyed the woman warily. “Yes?”

She softly smiled. “My name's Kang Jihee, and I believe we have to talk.”

Hongjoong narrowed his eyes. No one knew he was supposed to be here, to begin with, and yet this lady comes and knows who he is. Who exactly was this woman? “Alright, we'll talk.” He needed to find out just what she knew about him.

The lady, Jihee, led him into a separate building out of the rain so that they could speak privately. She sat down first on one of the chairs, and he followed suit, keeping his guard up around her. She seemed to notice how tense he was and chuckled. “I would say there is no reason to be so tense, but that won't do much, would it?”

“It wouldn't.” He admitted, and she didn't seem offended by his straightforwardness, in fact, she giggled behind her hand at his words.

“This may come as a surprise but I have been waiting for you for a couple of hours now. You surely took your sweet time to come see him off.”

Hongjoong tensed even more in his seat. “How did you know I would be here?”

“I would expect the one person who loved him to at least make an appearance at his funeral, don't you think so?” She mused.

“You knew Seonghwa?” He asked. Hongjoong knew of the handful of people in the omega's life and never had Seonghwa mentioned this lady.

Jihee nodded fondly. “I knew him very well.” This didn't make sense. Just who was this woman? She definitely wasn't Seonghwa's mother since his mother was already dead, and she was way too young to be one. And she definitely wasn't his sister. Seonghwa had no known older siblings. “I can see the confusion clear as day on your face.” She scoffed at his expression.
