Chapter 5

The next few weeks we fell into a pattern of Liam and I talking every night and sometimes at school but mostly I  was really focused on trying to get all my schoolwork done. I had also started working at the daycare with Liam but in the infant room,which was a good experience for me and i saved up all my money.

Before I knew it,I was five months pregnant and I had gained a bump overnight. It wasn't completely visible but you could tell I was pregnant. I had been wearing really baggy sweatshirts and shirts to cover it but it was Saturday and for some reason even though it was now December I was hot. I was wearing a tank top,and some pajama pants. I was alone because my mother had been working nonstop.

It was about 7pm and I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and Liam was standing there with some burgers and fries which was what I have been craving all week long.

"Do you know how much I love you right now." I said letting him in the door. He smiled and looked at me. "Don't use the L word commitment issues and all." He said and I laughed. We took a seat in my living room and I sat criss cross applesauce with the food in my hand. I took a giant bite out of my burger and moaned with how good it tasted.

"When did your bump get that big?" He asked,and turned serious and I looked down at it.

"It almost feels like it happened overnight." I said moving my food to the side.

"Do you want to touch it?" I asked him as he looked down at it.

"Oh no it's okay." He said looking awkward and I frowned but didn't push it. We ate in silence and decided to talk for a little while.

"Have you heard back from any colleges?" I asked him and he sighed.

"I heard from a couple colleges." He said.

"And?" I asked.

"I got into Duke and WPI." He said and I was happy for him but Duke was a long way from Mass and WPI was still two hours away from where we lived.

"Those are amazing schools." I said giving him a smile.

"They are very far away,but Duke wants me to play basketball for them." He said as if it was no big deal.

"Liam that is awesome you can't turn that down." I said knowing that it was a huge deal.

"I have other priorities now." He said pointing to my stomach.

"I am working,plus the baby and I will still be here once you graduate." I said to him.

"It just isn't the right timing,maybe in another lifetime." He said giving me a kiss on the cheek and left. I sighed and cleaned up before deciding to go to bed.

I woke up and felt pains going down my stomach. I looked at the time and it was 10pm.

"Mom!?" I called out,but she didn't answer. I forgot tonight was the night she was on call. I shifted in bed as another pain hit and I felt liquid down my legs. I looked down and saw that I was covered in blood. I screamed and was hit by another pain.

Crying I called Liam praying for him to answer,he finally did on the fourth ring.

"Lilly,did you miss me already?" He said jokingly.
