Emil's new office in Seoul was a sleek, modern space, reflecting his successful transition from New York to South Korea. The cityscape outside his window was a stark contrast to the tension building inside the room as Dae Ho arrived unexpectedly.
Dae Ho walked in with a polite smile, but his eyes betrayed a hint of something more menacing. Emil looked up from his desk, his expression hardening as he saw his unwelcome guest.
"Congratulations on your marriage, Mr. Langston. It must be quite a transition, moving your life here to South Korea."
Emil's voice was curt. "Thank you. But let's cut to the chase. What do you really want?"
Dae Ho's smile faltered slightly, replaced by a more serious expression. "I came to discuss Jasmine. I hope you're aware of the gravity of this situation. You should seriously consider divorcing her once the baby is born."
Emil's eyes narrowed. "Why should I listen to you? This is my life and my family."
"Because if you don't, I will take legal action against you. I have the means to make your life very difficult. If you try to keep Jasmine and the child in your life beyond the initial legalities, you'll face serious repercussions."
Emil's face flushed with anger. "Are you threatening me?"
Dae Ho's expression grew colder. "I have proof that you're involved in money laundering. I'm prepared to use this information if you don't comply with my demands."
Emil's eyes widened in shock and rage. "You're bluffing. You don't have anything."
"I assure you, I do," Dae Ho said, his tone icy. "And if you don't heed my warning, you'll find out just how serious I am."
Enraged, Emil stood up and slammed his fist on the desk. "Get out of my office!"
Dae Ho remained calm but left swiftly, knowing he had struck a nerve. Emil stormed to the door, watching as Dae Ho walked away with a self-satisfied smirk.
Once Dae Ho was gone, Emil took a deep breath, trying to steady himself. He quickly picked up his phone and called Steven.
"Steven, I need you to investigate something immediately. Dae Ho claimed he has proof of money laundering against me. I need to know if there's any truth to it. Get on it right away."
Steven's voice was reassuring. "I'm on it, Mr. Langston. I'll report back as soon as I have any information."
Emil ended the call and paced his office, his mind racing. The threat from Dae Ho was more serious than he had anticipated, and now he had to face the possibility of both personal and professional crises.
