-Artair's POV-
What have I done. What have I done. Looking over the naked unconscious werewolf. My cheeks burned in embarrassment. My body still metabolising her current, a torrent of energy that would have killed a normal werewolf. I knew of only one who could wield this power and not die. Princess Victoria's daughter. Raeden. My heart did an odd flip as I thought of her name but I gave it no mind. Gingerly lifting her soaked body I cradled her gently as I stood. Trying to keep my eyes off her body as much as possible. It was only respectful.
I made sure to keep my gait steady as to not jostle her as I made my way into my home. A small dwelling for a vampire but one that suited my needs. A relatively small modern house. Pushing open the door I stepped in holding Raeden closer as I turned to shut the door. Walking quickly, my legs ate up the distance to one of my guest bedrooms. Entering the room I made quick work of getting Raeden set up in the bed, pulling the covers up to her neck before I looked at her.
I cursed under my breath as I saw the damage to her nose. I had broken it by accident when I punched her. I hadn't meant to punch her, my body just reacted on its own. Sighing as shame heated up my body. I reached forwards holding her nose in my hand, and holding her down with the other.
"Sorry! sorry! sorry!" I whispered as I snapped her nose back into place so that it could heal correctly.
Other than a trickle of Blood from her nose Raeden didn't stir. I must have taken too much of her energy for her to be out like this. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as I stepped back. My throat burning as I scented her blood in the room. Taking a few calming breaths I left the room to look for something to wipe her face. On the way to the kitchen I passed the my house phone.
Picking it of the dresser I dialled in the number for the werewolf king, which my father had given me when I settled close to their territory, It rang a few times before it connected.
"Hello, King Lucian speaking" The person on the other end spoke.
"Ah, Hi, I'm vampire Prince Artair" I introduced my heart pounding as nerves bubbled up.
"What do I owe the pleasure, Prince Artair" King Lucian asked his voice friendly, almost as if he was smiling on the other end of the line.
"Your niece ran into my territory by mistake, she had a storm with her and passed out shortly after" I explained, leaving out the fight.
"She is safe though, right?" came Lucian's concerned reply.
"Of course Sir, as soon as she is well I'll send her home" I exclaimed sweat gathering my back and neck.
"Good, I'll tell her parents she's safe, be careful with her Artair, she's not a fan of Vampires" Lucian's chuckled reply came through the phone like he was exasperated.
"I will Your majesty, thank you for the warning" I said, my voice coming through clear even though my nerves had frayed a lot, I hated talking on the phone.
After we said our goodbyes I hung up the phone, breathing in and out to calm myself down as I clenched and unclenched my hands. Curse this stupid anxiety of phone calls. Groaning as I walk into my kitchen opening the fridge and finding my prototype blood replacement drink. Grabbing one I opened it before drinking deeply, the rest of my nerves settling now that my body doesn't think its in danger.
Turning around I gathered a cloth and a bowl of warm water, ferrying them to the room I had placed Raeden in before leaving and coming back with a glass of water and some painkillers. My hands shook as I wiped the quickly drying blood from her nose and upper lip. My heart hammering as I finally took in her appearance. She was lean and light, I had felt that much when I had picked her up. Her skin was paler than I thought possible for a white werewolf, and her hair a beautiful honey blonde.
She was beautiful.
After wiping her wound and making sure she was comfortable I laid out some of my loose fitting clothes for her. The urge to make sure she was okay overwhelming as static shocked my skin. Taking the bowl of warm bloodied water and the cloth, I went back to my kitchen and washed out the dish.
"Not a fan of vampires eh, that would explain why you attacked me out of nowhere"
My statement fell on death ears, no one would answer back I lived alone and even if Raeden was awake I doubt she'd talk to me. I'd heard the story of her parents and the Vampires that had threatened them. It had almost been 25 years since then, things had changed for the better but seeing her dad suffer must have made the princess bitter. It was a wonder she hadn't attacked anyone sooner. It was exhilarating my first proper fight with a werewolf. The way she moved and how she controlled her power was amazing. It had my mind reeling with all the new theories and research topics I had.
Shaking my head I pottered around my kitchen for a while, gathering a meal for Raeden and putting it in the slow cooker while I waited for her to wake. She'd probably be out for a while. I definitely took too much of her electricity. Sighing I pushed of the counter and made my way to my lab, no time like the present to get back to my research. As I focused on my experiment I was acutely aware of Raeden's breathing and when she moved in her sleep. It put me on edge but relaxed me at the same time. I guess it was a waiting game now.
