The first thing Aurelia noticed the next morning was that her head hurt. It felt like someone had hit her over the head with a bat and her head was pounding. Plus the sun was way too bright. Even though only some peaked through her closed curtains. She groaned, pulling the covers over her head and curling into a ball. She had no idea how long she stayed under there. Though she figured it wasn't too long since it wasn't hot and she wasn't suffocating.
"Good morning, sunshine." A familiar voice greeted her. She could feel the mattress shift under the weight of someone sitting down next to her.
"Ugh, shut up." Aurelia grumbled, groaning when the blankets were pulled off her. She slowly peeked her head out, blinking her eyes as they adjusted to the brightness.
"Good morning to you too." Jeremiah teased, laughing a little.
"Why aren't you like this? You were more drunk than me." Aurelia frowned, squinting at him as she rubbed her eyes.
"Because I have my magical smoothie." Jeremiah smirks. "Want me to make you some?"
"Please." Aurelia begs, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Can you turn the sun down while you're at it?" She mumbled.
"Unfortunately, I can't." He replies, amused. He rubs her back soothingly. "How much do you remember from last night?"
"Um, I remember hugging all over Harvey, Taylor and Steven, and cupcakes." She lists off, furrowing her eyebrows when the rest is foggy. "That's all I can really remember."
"Oh, right." Jeremiah winces, remembering how Aurelia had accidentally witnessed Steven and Taylor kissing. "Um, how about you shower and I'll go get your smoothie and tell you all the drama from last night." He suggested.
"Sure, sure." Aurelia mumbles, sighing softly. She sat up straighter, giving him her puppy dog eyes. "Carry me?"
"You're hungover. Not crippled." Jeremiah snorted, rolling his eyes playfully. He still lifted her up into his arms, carrying her bridal style.
"Hey, I'm your older sister and therefore you're required to listen to me." She huffed, resting her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes.
"You're older by a year." He rolled his eyes, heading downstairs to the kitchen. He set her down in one of the chairs, turning to go to the fridge to get her the fruit he needed for the smoothie.
"Hey, where's everyone?" Aurelia questioned, not seeing them.
"Connie went to help Cleveland, teaching him about knots and whatever on the sailboat. Not sure where mom is or Laurel is. Steven is out back and Belly is still in her room with Taylor." He replied, grabbing the items to make her smoothie.
"Oh." Aurelia mumbled. She laid her head on her crossed arms, closing her eyes.
Jeremiah works quickly to make the smoothie, putting in all the ingredients and blending them until they were smooth. Once the smoothie was ready, he pours it into a glass, setting the blender in the sink. He walks over to her, sliding the glass to her. "There you go, sis."
