"Good...?"
"What... when... awake...?"
"Takes... Not... Pulse... Stable... Just has... Shock... Think she should... wake up again..."
What's going on?
"What happened?"
"I think she saw your powers.""That must have knocked her out."
I heard a boy laugh.
"She's fine, anyway. We shouldn't take any risks and bring her back over.""Chase, she's not going to kill us."A girl's voice...
"No, I think he's right. The last few times it's always gone wrong when we've trusted someone."Another girl's voice."So that means we'll never have contact with other people again?"It was a boy.
"For now, we should leave it until we've taken care of Roman and Riker."Taken care of? What do they mean by that? And why does my head hurt so much?I put one hand to my temple in the hope that the pain would subside, but unfortunately for me, it didn't help."There, she seems to be waking up."I had the feeling I was being watched. And with the number of different voices I could already make out, that was probably the case.As it was suddenly quiet, I straightened my upper body a little and opened my eyes. When I saw a face directly in front of me, I was terrified and crawled my body back a little. When I had finally pulled away, I looked into the brown eyes in front of me, still a little shocked but mostly confused."Kaz, don't scare her."But as I find myself staring, again, rather quickly, I break that eye contact and let my gaze wander over the young people in front of me.
"Where am I?"My gaze stopped on a girl with medium-length brown hair who looked quite familiar. If I remember correctly, it was the girl I had knocked over in front of the elevator. She took a step forward and pulled the boy, who was bent halfway over me, away from me by his blue long-sleeved shirt, and smiled gently at me."You're at our house," she said but was immediately interrupted by a boy in a red plaid shirt."You fainted on your balcony and we wanted to see if you were okay."I glanced over the two girls and three boys again.I had to process this whole situation first and thought about it out loud."Do you remember what happened?"The boy in the plaid shirt looked almost worried.I waited a while before answering because I had to think. I remembered that I was relaxing on the balcony after meeting the girl and that two boys were arguing on the opposite balcony... And then they...
Shocked, I looked at the three boys."One of you was breathing fire!""Uh... yeah... so you must have hit your head pretty hard when you fell over," one of the boys interjected. He hadn't said anything yet.But he couldn't fool me with that statement."No! I'm sure I saw that!"I stood up to make my statement a little more credible, stumbling a bit and having to be careful to stay on my feet. I was immediately helped by the guy in the blue shirt, who was standing quite close to me. He held my shoulder with his hand to give me support.
"Hey, look, you're bleeding," he said, pulling the hair at the back of my head to the side, which was a little uncomfortable. I wasn't the type for physical contact. Especially with strangers."How could you have missed that, Chase?" the slim guy wanted to know from the checked shirt. He looked at him in slight horror."Do I look like a doctor? You're the doctors here!""Well, you could say that..."I didn't know what the girl with the long brown hair meant by that and I didn't care because my head was still pounding.I stood a little lost in front of the four of them, with one of them still holding me by the shoulder, and looked at them blankly. I still had no idea what was even going on here."Let me see."My support stood behind me and was about to tamper with my hair when it became too much for me. I slapped my hand on the wound - far too hard, I realized immediately - and took a step away from the boy. He looked at me a little puzzled.I was still a bit wobbly on my feet, but I wouldn't fall over. At least I hoped so."Hey, you don't need to be afraid of us. We won't hurt you," the girl I met in the hallway intervened and smiled gently at me.I didn't say anything specifically in response. I took my hand off my head and looked at it briefly. It had some blood on it, which showed me that it wasn't exactly something small.
"I should get home!" I said quickly and was about to head for the front door when I felt dizzy and staggered again. Since I had already walked a few steps and moved away from my previous support, I immediately got a new one who wrapped his arm around me. It was Chase, if I had been paying attention correctly.
"I understand you want to go home, but I think you could use a doctor. You're not quite yourself yet, it seems."
The plaid shirt was probably right about that. I could use some help with my head."Ask Oliver to examine you. He's a doctor and can treat the wound," he added. But support number one immediately spoke up."What, why can't I do that? I can do that too!"He seemed subtly offended until the skinny one, who was probably Oliver, spoke up.""Because you'd probably make the wound even bigger..."Support number one nodded in understanding and laughed briefly."Yeah, you're probably right.""So, what do you say?" Chase turned to me again. I thought about it for a moment and then nodded in defeat."Okay."It couldn't be a mistake. At least I hoped so.
