She waited out the rest of the afternoon in the ROR (room of requirement), practicing spell work- but mostly avoiding the various boys of the castle. It seemed like she was living out the saying: you get what you ask for. Sure she wanted to create deeper relationships with these characters, but it felt she was getting in a little over her head.
She had the confidence of the main character, but not the experience to back it up. Yeah she had been in her share of "relationships", but none of her previous partners compared to the intensity that these Hogwarts boys already showed. That.... confession thing from Sebastian, although not technically a confession, should have been in a romantic novel.
It was heart wrenching what he said about Anne and having to leave her behind. It was easy to tell in the game that he was struggling, but to hear it from his own mouth... man she couldn't believe she didn't cry. But ugh, everything he said made her mind feel so cloudy. It seemed like he liked her, but more just as a distraction from what he was going through.
But why was she getting so worked up over this? It's not like his words could really change anything. There was a possibility that they could kiss again in the future, but as far as the game play went- what would be different? He would still obsess over Anne and walk down the path to dark magic; that was his whole thing.
He paused though, thinking back on her potions class with Garreth. His whole character revolved around making and brewing potions and getting the main character caught up in it. After spending time with him he basically side stepped his nature in an attempt to get closer to her. Did this mean that in this dream-reality-universe-whatever that she could change such drastic events?
If her choosing to get closer to Sebastian changed his character makeup, could they avoid all the uncle killing shit that went down? Sure as a video game it would take out the intrigue, but for her playing with these real people, it could be life changing. Imagine a world where Sebastian Sallow wasn't worried he was going to be sent to Azkaban, and rather just lived out his teenage life.
And when it came to Ominis- how much more enjoyable could his life be if he wasn't getting used by his best friend to share his family secrets. He could have peace in his 5th year, and hopefully that would help fulfill her goal of giving him a better life.
When it came down to it, everything the dark magic obsessed boy did, he wasn't able to help Anne. So really... what harm could the change really do?
Jane ran over to her bag, grabbing a paper, and dreaded quill and ink. She moved over to a desk and chair that Deek had made for her previously in the day and started writing. She wrote out all the events that she could remember that happened in Sebastian's story line. It was two different things, the stuff that pushed the main story along and the crazy evil stuff.
As far as she remembered, the biggest things to move the story with the boy came because of the found triptych in Feldcroft, and its subsequent pieces. Finding the missing pieces just meant following clues that Isadora left behind. None of that required getting the ancient relic or murdering his uncle. So no Sebastian side quests, just main story.
She looked over his list, trying to make sure there wasn't anything else that she was missing. After triple checking she felt confident that her plans were sound. She would try to only be part of his story that focused on the main quest, and do all she could to steer him away from the others. She wasn't sure how it would all turn out, some of this story she was in seemed to take its preordained course even when she messed with it. She was going to try though.
