Author and Molly Weasley were startled when they heard someone pounding on their front door. The Wizarding War was still ongoing and their allies were being hunted every day. Had the Death Eaters found them at last?

“Molly, take the children upstairs,” Arthur commanded as he drew out his wand.

Molly didn’t even hesitate. She quickly ushered young Bill, Charlie and Percy up to the stairs with Fred and George in her arms.

Once he heard the door shut, Arthur cautiously approached the front door. He peered through the peephole and nearly heaved a sigh of relief when he saw his brother-in-law, Fabian Prewett standing on the other side, but he had to be sure it really was him. “When did Molly get her first camera?”

“13 April 1965.”

Arthur quickly opened the door, pulled Fabian in and bolted the door. “What are you doing here?” he asked before shouting up the stairs, “Molly! It’s safe!”

“Fabian?” Molly cried in disbelief as she hurried down. “What’s going on? Who’s this little girl?”

“Uncle Fabian!” young Bill Weasley exclaimed. He ran down the stairs to hug his uncle with Charlie and Percy not far behind him.

Fabian set the little girl that he had been carrying on the floor. He leaned down and said, “Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, this is my daughter, Aila. Aila, darling, why don’t you go play with your cousins?”

Once the children were happily playing in the living room, Fabian sighed and turned to his sister and brother-in-law. “I know the two of you probably have a lot of questions but I need to ask the two of you a favour…Can you take care of little Aila for me? Please?”

Arthur and Molly looked at each other, then at the children. They seemed to get along quite well and it would be good to have a female around to keep the boys in check. “We will take care of her like our own, Fabian,” Molly assured him, “but since when did you have a daughter?”

“Thank you,” Fabian breathed in relief. “I met a Veela named Aurelia just before the war. Well, things happened and Aila was born about two weeks after Fred and George. 14 April to be exact. We were hiding out and it was only a matter of time before we got busted by the Death Eaters. Aurelia died so we could escape and keeping Aila with me would only do her more harm, especially with how involved I am with the Order.”

“I’m sorry,” Arthur said quietly.

Fabian just gave him a sad smile. “I think I should be on my way now.” He turned to Aila who was giggling in Bill’s arms. “Aila, remember that mummy and daddy love you. Take care, my little one,” he whispered, kissing his baby girl’s forehead. “If all goes well, I’ll come back for you.”

Fabian Prewett died in the First Wizarding War, leaving little Aila Prewett orphaned. She stayed with the Weasleys for most of her childhood and when Bill went to Hogwarts, he specially sent her a toilet bowl seat that she had hung up in his room. And it wasn’t long before AIla started Hogwarts.
